- K replies to KellyThank you all for sharing your experiences with them and regarding this. I just received a 202-622-2000 Washington, DC call but didn't answer and no message left. If I do happen to speak to them at some point, I will definitely advise them that they have been reported to the authorities and I will not hesitate to do so.
- Troubled in TexasOh my gosh....once again my cash ship sailed without me!!!! OK, everyone who is worried about not giving these yahoos your personal info: these jerks are scammers. THEY ARE CRIMINALS. If you give them any info, they will rob you blind and never look back. They don't care whether you are on a fixed income or cash-strapped; in fact, they are specifically looking for you. Here is the take away & trust me, really, trust me: the US government, will never, ever call you on the phone and offer to send you $7K just because you've never been arrested and are a "responsible" citizen. The US government really doesn't give a rat's butt whether or not you are responsible. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income myself. I am what you would consider responsible (just don't ask my family and friends!) and I have had these things figured out for over 50 years: first, if something/someone seems too good to be true, it/they usually are, second, nothing is free (except happiness and real love), and, third, unfortunately, PT Barnum's statement that one "is born every minute" is true and that is why these scavengers are able to continue to operate. Let's just do what has been recommended by DaFox and others with better brains and info than most of us: DO NOT AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH DO NOT GIVE THESE ANIMALS ANY INFO ABOUT YOURSELF. I have tried to be light-hearted about this, but please take this recommendation to heart: Please, please, please, If you wouldn't give someone in a parking lot your SSN, ITIN, bank acct numbers or credit card info, then don't give this same info to some criminal who happens to call you on the phone. You don't have to report these events to any government agency if you don't want to but please protect your name and your financial well-being. We worked hard all of our lives and we deserve the right to live life to its fullest and within the means we worked so hard to achieve. Don't give it away to these skunks who aren't even American and don't even live here. Good luck to anyone and everyone having these buzzards call and bother you.
