Doesn't speak very good English, said something about $7000.00 Grant, told him that I was not interested & he proceeded to curse me out & said he was coming to F ME UP? What kind of SICKO IS THIS GUY, PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

I told him it sounds like a scam, wanting to give me $7000. In grant money, he laughed at me and hung up. Big Scam

Also beware- they have a fake web-site that looks a lot like the treasury web site and lists this number as the contact number!

Rec'd call from 202-622-2000 at 1:30 PM on 6/5/2015. Did not answer but did call the number back and got a recorded message that it belongs to the Treasury Dept. Hah - another scam. Why are you people so impotent when it comes to stopping these scam calls? I get them EVERY day. And, yes, I am on the do not call list.

Same as others...some foreign guy saying they had a 7000 grant for me...I laughed and told him to stick it...again, caller ID said dept of treasury. Now tell me... How is it possible that nothing can be done about these scam artists using our government caller ID names...

Received the call, could not hardly understand the person speaking.  It was also for the $7000.00 grant money.  He went on to say because I was and upstanding person with no criminal record, payed my taxes on time, and no bankruptcy record (which is untrue, had one several years back) that I qualified for this grant.  I cut him off at that time, I told him nothing comes that easy as I had applied for schooling grants in the past and that it was a major project.  He continued to say no, this is a good thing.  I told him I was not interested, he hung up on me.  Just love it when that happens!

I've got the same call - just now. After the girl with an Indian accent told me that I have been selected by the US Government to receive a loan that I do not need to repay, I reply to her that I am afraid that this call is not legitimate. After that was - silence! As with the guy with same accent a couple of years ago and again last month telling me that I am going to be arrested because of my Tax Return. I do everything by the book in my life and do not fall for such sham. Don't you either!!

I just got a call from the same number to my place of employment.  Who do I report this to.  "John Smith" very heavy Indian accent was very rude and even vulgar when I didn't fall for his scam.

Received call on June 10th.  Caller had thick eastern Indian accent.  Said he was calling from Dept. of Treasury.  I said "I doubt that", and hung up.

I love getting these calls. The best thing you can do is keep them on the phone as long as you can. I love going along with it. I will write down numbers for a "debit" card and always give them the same they hate it when you scam them back. I had one of them on the phone for about 45 min and he finally lost it called me a liar and hung up......

Such a loosers!!! they keep calling me all the time, and i really enjoy talking to them and screw them finally. :)

i recevied a missed call from the number- 202-622-2000-  no message-

Called from a (202)-2000 and asked for me by namr was and said there name is John Smith, i said who and they hung up. I called back and it said Department of Treasury and said hours and 8-5 how are they calling me and it was almost 6p.m  at night. Scam.

Been getting a dozen calls a day from various Scammers so I didn't answer,  but the caller ID said us treasury.
Wish something could be done about these calls as they start at 5 a.m.

The first number they called ME from was disconnected 4 hours later. The number they gave me was 202-580-8426, I played along then they said go to a money gram or walmart with an id. I was calling for more info but they only asked for my zip code.

They claimed they were from the treasury and my boyfriend was going to jail due to tax evasion I took the phone and he started cussing and swearing at me and hung up.  I contacted the police and they told me to go to the IRS Web site.  I read about it on their website and the IRS asks that you fill out a complaint form. People have been paying millions to these scammers
