They never leave a message just a haug up.

I have received a call from these people the past few days. They just hang up when I answer, and get the same recording as everyone else when I call back. I just went to the Federal Trade Commission website, FTC.gov and clicked on the 'contact us' at the bottom and did a complaint form and filled out the information I could. If more people will fill out a complaint on the same number, maybe it will get the ftc up and moving and realize it's not just a couple people getting this, that it's a lot. If they won't hang up right when I answer, I may try the Sheriff's Office trick. I'm sure that get's your number removed instantly from their list.

I have pretty much the same story.  I have told them several times to stop calling.  Tonight they said "You couldn't have told us several times to stop calling because we only call once a year."  They then hung up.  I have just filed a FCC complaint.

We got a call here in Texas. A male caller was talking to another person in the background and I made out "I know how they are", listened for more, but he hung right up.

They haven't called back.

Send copies of our posts to the FCC too. That's prima facie evidence of their misdeeds and our dislike of them.

I just got a call from 205-313-0897 at 6:01pm 11-13-07. I called it right back and got a machine that this special phone does not receive calls. It's probably someone trying to get their 10 minutes of fame. He/she is getting us to talk about them. I am in Southeast Georgia.

Same, called at 8:35pm, call came in from Birmingham, AL, Jefferson County. Phone listed as a Residence!

That number just called my house on 11/17/07

You should just try calling 205-313-0897 back conctantly and see if it stops.

This same number called my house also on 11-17-07 at 12:03 and they tried calling again yesterday 11-20-07 at 3:10.  Caller ID was showing "Birmingham Al" We didn't answer the phone, but when the answering machine came on you could hear what sounded like a man talking to someone else while he was driving down the road.  We are also registered on the do not call list.  When I tried calling back a message came up saying this caller does not accept calls from this special phone.

Got a call at my residence in Northwest GA on 12/2/07 at around 6:30pm. The answering machine picked it up but they just hung up.

Received call twice from this number said he was wity the police benevalence looking for donations for fallen officers

I work for the company...it is pretty awesome i think. The main 3 organizations we call for are Peace officer's Association of Georgia, the Georgia association of Emergency medical services, and the Texas Association of emergency medical services. We are located in hoover alabama and we call statewide GA and TX. We represent non-profit civic charities and have to feed our families just as you people do. All of these allegations people make about legitimacy are crazy as we are clearly within the realm that the various state attorney generals allow for us. We call from a T-1 phone line and for the most part we hide our true location due to threatening/harassing phone calls. That is all the info I can provide at this time. If you have more questions, ask don't assume. Any attempt to trace/hack will be fruitless... PS: National Do Not Call Registry does NOT apply to non-profit organizations...

Got a hang-up call from this number as well in Atlanta, GA on 12/05/07 at 6:30.

This caller has called my home several times..I live close to Montgomery, AL.  He claims to be with a charity that benefits the firemen of Atlanta, Ga.  That's a load of bs.

You are nothing more than a low down crook.  If you were really legitimate you would actually SPEAK when people answer their phones.  Don't give us any of your bs.  You're all over the news and the papers as being fake.  Stop trying to hide your sins and repent.

All of you that answer the phone and say that no one speaks needs to understand something.  Your call is generated by a computer.  There is no one on the other end.  The purpose is to register the time when someone is home at your residence so a person can call back with the intent to speak with you and not "waste" their time dealing with an answering machine.  If you have caller ID and an answering machine, why answer a call when you don't recognize the number of the caller?  If the call is legit, the caller will leave a message.  If you're standing by the answering machine, pick up the receiver and speak with the caller.  By answering the phone, you encourage future calls.  If the company never gets anyone to answer the phone, eventually they stop calling.  As for these jack-legs claiming to raise money for police departments, I work for a police department and we never receive one cent from any company such as this.
