- AnnemarieJust received a call from them at work and nine(!) other calls at my computer workstation. My boss looked up the number and is now calling the Texas State Attorney General's Austin office to complain about the harassment. I owe them nothing, and the old debts they bought are way out of reach now because of the statute of limitations.... but nine freakin' calls from them in 10 minutes??? The stock must be falling on these losers... beware. Once you answer a question about old debt, the clock starts ticking on that debt, and they have you...

- Portfolio is a Junk Debt buyer replies to mjPORTFOLIO RECOVERY IS A KNOWN JUNK DEBT BUYER AND FDCPA VIOLATOR !!!!
Junk debt is worthless legally uncollectable debt they purchase for pennies and break State and Fed FDCPA and FCRA laws to collect dollars from innocent consumers.
Junk debt is debt they have no PROOF you owe!
To old beyond statute of limitations by state law.
Already paid !
Discharged in bankruptcy.
Or a result of identity theft. - unhappy camperI have been documenting each and every call received from these idiots. I do not owe them any money and I have sued these same people in the past and received my $1000.00. They call early in the morning and late in the evening. The caller
ID shows the company name as Portfolorecovery. I do not know how these people are allowed to operate in business.- Caller: unkkown

- cateTA- DA!!!.. This is call #550 !!!!! since these bottom feeders had their lawyer Pearson write me and the attorney general's consumer protection office both a letter stating in black and white print that they had "decided to cease collection efforts" on this totally unverified debt (actually, Pearson admitted in the letter that the debt could not be verified ). Was the first week of September, in the year 2010...almost four years ago. Note, I had not asked them to "cease" calling, I had only asked in writing, for verification of the "debt." What a bunch of idiots these vermin are!
Maybe one day I shall pick up the phone -- no one ever has, not once, not in more than five years of calling -- and graciously agree to send a contribution to Portfoolio's recovery facility. Or not. Dream on, PRA, dream on.
PS. By complaining to the Attorney General's office, Portfoolio was directed to identify themselves in the caller ID, and to refrain from calling more than twice a day, and more than a certain limited number of times a month. Makes it very easy to ignore them, and to know when to report them on 800 notes, so others will know: do not pick up, do not speak to them, do not give them any info, not even your name.
Go pound sand, Portfoolio!- Caller: Portfoolio Recovery

- Annemarie-KLOSERS: you all at Portfolio Recovery need to know that I owe you nothing. You don't know me, yet you call me repeatedly, even though I bought this number when I bought the phone... stop harassing me, I've written you letters, my lawyer has written you time and time again... what's it going to take? A class action lawsuit to get it done???

- ChuckI was un-lucky in receiving my new telephone number almost a year ago. The number belonged to a Woman who skipped-out on a whole bunch of Bills. This 205-396-3619 is probably some collection agency.
- Ray HallThis man was rude to my wife and called her a liar when she told home she has a new computer, which she has. I am glad they did not answer when I called back.

- Cat| 1 replyJust a quite warning about this "Portfolio Recovery" whatever outfit -- I've been getting calls from these idiots on a phone number I just got a couple of months ago (lucky me) and when I read here who it was, I got curious and went to their website. Thank goodness I'm a obsessive about computer security, because when I did, practically every scanner I have running lit up like a Christmas tree. Their site was trying to park at least one virus and one trojan on my system. I don't know if they're infected and don't know it or if they're trying to do it on purpose, but in either case, beware!

- Cat replies to CatSorry, that should have been "quick warning...". No edit opportunity on these posts, apparently.
- boogiemanI like to mess with them when they call. I tell them they have the right person, but I have Turetts Syndrome and I am prone to uncontrollable swearing at any and all times. I then ask them what the call is about. . .but before they can tell me I start to discuss there "parentage" with them and what a sorry bunch of [***] they all are. . . then I get real sweet and apologetic to them and just when they start to talk again I start by getting even nastier than the first time. . . usually about there wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend is [***] or a gay monkey or something all together worse. . . . then all sweet and apologetic again before telling them what I would like to do to them in the shower tomorrow morning. . . then all apologetic again. . . and so on and so forth. They usually give up on the second or third fit that I pitch to them, but sometimes they give me the chance to get really creative before getting all frustrated. Oh yes, next time they call, try telling them that you don't have a phone and therefore you must hang up immediately. . . that one really messes with their feeble minds.
