He will send you a bank check that  you will cash and later down the road the only legit name they have is yours and you are the responsible party that could face criminal charges for passing a counterfeit bank check and he got your item too.  Please review the craigslist scam acts to enable you to better recognize a legit opposed to a scam.  I have come pretty good at recognizing a scam and the most helpful thing I can say is "if it seems to good to be true, it is"  Right!  Any other questions ask away, we are all in this together and we need to be to stop guys like him!
Hope this was helpful, and good luck.

How did he do that my goodness if it seems good to be true, I am so sorry.  Please post your story for the rest to hear so they can understand how he does it.  He made several attempts with me, claiming to be different people changing it up a little but very similar.  Anything you can tell people would be helpful.  Take care.

Well, this guy had the nerve to send me the check, and I forwarded it to the local authorities and updated the FBI case number.  He put his address on the check (down in Jacksonville, FL)

I just got a first email from a "james park" <fhdhjdshdsnc@gmail.com asking if my car was still aviable.  I  respond yes and then got an email from the same guy from phemmie smith.  Saying he wants me to sell him my car and he will send me a bank check, and will pick up the car once it is cleared.  I responded like nothing was wrong saying I need cash in person.  either was it seemed fishy to me, I am glad I looked it up.  He also asked me to asked me add down like th others.  SCAM!

I got the same email.I said ok fine you just need to send cash via western union prior to pick up or have cash at time of pickup .I still have not got a response from him,but I new it was a scam.So don't except any funds from him unless it is cash and make sure you check that too....

I have been contacted by several of these people.  They say they will send you a check, which they do, you cash the check and everything seems fine but then it turns out there is no money so your bank "takes it back".  I always respond with "after I cash your check which must be drawn on an American bank" and I never hear again.  Also thought it was funny that it's coming through as Dr. Barry Johnson but he refered to himself as Tim in one of the e-mails.  He's trying to buy our houseboat!

Just be extra sure youre talking to whom you think youre talking to on the phone from now on :^)
