That's a dumb comment. People want to know exactly who called,   and find out what's going on if possible.    I Google most unwanted calls and apparently so do you.

I received the same phone call, same number 206-462-5330 from a man with an accent saying I owed $5500 in back taxes from 2008-2012.   I said I already paid my taxes.  He said we sent out 2 notices and you ignored them and we sent a certified letter and the postman tried to deliver but you did not answer your door.  Right there I knew it was a scam.  So I said why don't you email me the document now so I can look it over.  He said look, I need to know if you are going to pay the bill now or not and you are being recorded.  I said, I'm not going to pay a bill that I have not seen.   He said, then we will have a warrant out for your arrest and we will come to your home.  I started laughing and said good try and hung up.   Wow!  People actually have the time to do this chit!

Got the same call today.  One quick tip if you happen to call them back (I didn't).  Why would the IRS, a federal organization, send state police to arrest you?  I guarantee if someone calls them out on this (just for fun) they will hang up on you right away.  If the IRS was really coming after you, the federal authorities would be contacted, not the state.  Again, I'm just worried the elderly are falling for this.  Hopefully this tip helps.

Hello everyone.  Today I received my 5th call in 24 hrs from these IRS scammers.  Please do not be fooled by their tactics.  File a complaint with the Dept. of Treasury.  They want to hear from you if you have been contacted by these crooks.

I called and spoke to officer Eric Johnson badge number 1058 about my case 40816 regarding my back taxes owed from 2008-2013 of $4,802.34 that I needed to pay now or they were going to send someone to arrest me, cancel my drivers license, shut my business down, seize my accounts, etc. HaHa. I hung up after an expletive or two for wasting my time.  Hope they don't actually get anyone to send them money.

Let me give you all a cross reference here. This number was an IRS Robot call from a women with no foreign accent. The other call I got the same day was very difficult to hear and understand. The voice was a male foreign accent claiming to be from the IRS with all the information and threat others have stated. Look at  number 206 201 2091. They work together. Scarred the hell out of my wife. This to serious not to be reported.

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

Just received a call from 206-462-5330 that sounded like someone on the other end of the line not speaking. Then a recording came on after the second time I said hello, stating that it was the IRS and I was having a lawsuit filed against me by the IRS and to call the number 206-462-5330 to speak to the department.

What a scam. Never called the number so I have no idea where it ends up but the calls are extremely fake sounding and are a what of some ones time!
