I know how you feel, My boyfriend hates that I do this, but I keep my ringer off most the day. I check the caller ID every 20 minutes or so to see who called or left message. But it's the only way I can "DEAL" with all the calls, if the ringer is on, you feel you HAVE to check who's calling, but my way, I decide when I want to see if someone called, but when I saw CA Police, it really scared me, those jerks

This caller calls in the middle of the night, on the weekend and during the week at all hours. We are on the DO NOT CALL list and yet they still call constantly.

Does anyone know where they got our phone numbers from? Someone must have given them our numbers. How are they beyond the reach of the DO NOT CALL limitations?

They called TONIGHT, while we are already alert and watching for those "Reverse 911 calls." My husband is a cop, and we also thought it was possible he was getting called in, after working 11 hours and being asked to come in early tomorrow.

We were actually HAPPY when they hung up on him! SOBs!

They have called me twice within the past week. Thank god, I was gone when the calls came in, but I freaked out when I figured out it was a Stockton number because I have friends in the area. The ID comes up as CA POLICE YC,and when I tried to return the call several times it was busy.

Good to know that there are sites like this that inform us of who the number belongs to! Damn telemarketers! Thanks everyone.

PS I like the idea of using an airhorn when they call! That made me laugh.

Caller ID says CPVC.  One time I answered and said I wasn't interested.  They continue to call nightly.  I don't answer the phone when I see it's CPVC. They don't leave a message.

That would be the California police youth charities phone number. They call me every year. The reason they don't leave a message is cause they want money!!

File a complaint with the FCC on their website.  www.fcc.gov.  It will get addressed, it will take place with normal gov't bureaucratic speed (zzzz) but they will address it. I have filed a number of complaints and I get responses, with action, mailed to me (traceable documentation). Takes tiem but it works.

Remember they are above the law and can do whatever they want and whenever they want to.  Actually the DNC only applies to interstate phone calls and also does not apply to organizations not engaged in commerce.  Sorry!

Just pay them off and they will leave you alone for a year.  I offered $1,000 and they said they would leave me alone for a month.  Good Luck! (jk)

Same with me, I answered and they hung up.  Can someone report these guys to the FBI

Called while we were out and showed up on Caller ID.  Never heard of them but Googled and found this information.  We have an unlisted number so it is both puzzling and frustrating!  Hope the law deals with them for impersonating officials.

Our Office just got 8 calls from this number. They were calling on several different lines at the Same time !

same deal -- hung up as soon as I answered -- however caller ID  has been changed -- now just shows CPYC

We are unlisted too and they just called. I answered the phone and some guy was yawning and said dang..before he could say anything I hung up. Even if they weren't telemarketers, it is rude to call and yawn in someone's ear.

I screen my calls because I do not have caller id, but for the past couple weeks I've been getting multiple calls on a daily basis that would just hang up when my answering machine picked up. I finally answered it today, and a young sounding guy asked for me by name, when I said this is he, he insulted me then said that's all he had to say and hung up. I used *69 and got this number back. When I called the number I just got a generic answering machine response.

Turned up this page while looking up the caller ID. Couldn't figure out who "CPYC" was and why they were calling from 209 area code (which I recognized as Northern California normally).
