they called me a wanted a donation of $500.00 i told him i wouldn't send that much money he kept pressuring me asking me to commit to lesser amount.he dropped the amount to $50.00.he sent me a form to fill out along with his demand to commit to the $50.00.after  reading all the comments about how it really is rip off charity,i don't think i will honor the commitment he demanded.

I got the same soliciting call from CPYC recently, and against my better judgement, I committed to "donating" $100 over the phone. Having now seen the comments here and elsewhere, I want to know if I'm legally bound to pay up because I made a pledge (probably recorded). I intend to go to my local Police Department tomorrow with their letter asking for their direction. They've sent me two letters already. The second letter, a "gentle" reminder, has adopted a subtly threatening tone. I'm not overly concerned about any threats: I'm a foreigner, and only temporarily here in the states.......I should return home next year, away from any legal liabilities here. It's just that it's quite disappointing that the name of the Police can be so wickedly misused, and they apparently can't do anything about it! The only reason why I even listened to them was because of the "Police" in their name! At least I'm happy that I resisted their pressure to provide my credit card details over the phone, something that I never do!

That's the newest number they are calling from. Same like everyone stories I declined to make a donation over the phone. They ask for various amount ranging from $10 to $100. I was still skeptical since the called was from Bay Area. The guy on the phone did not sound professional at all. I ask for brochures and other documents to see if they were legit. They sent it I read it. I told him if I'm interested in making a donations I will. But I needed to know their history's. Started Googling and seen many negative and fraudulent stuff they were doing. After reading all these stories I'm disgusted how these scammer are. That's all I have to vent! Be careful everyone.

I'm in NYS and I just received a call from this number.  I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, and this jerk didn't leave a number.
