I have never done business with this firm, but somehow their sales department got my name and number and now I am getting harassing sales calls to sell me some scheme stock, the guy even asked for my social over the phone.  I asked where he got my name and he said "he pays a lot for his information", I asked him to stop calling me, he calls anyway every day!!!!

I too had a call from "Chris" from John Thomas this morning who insisted that he had spoken to my husband and named a date and time when this alleged conversation took place. He demanded to know my husband's contact details. I refused but I promised to pass on his message.

"Chris" was worried that we would miss out on some big opportunity. If that doesn't sound like a scam I don't know what does.

Chris asked me to phone him back on 212 299 7859 but actually called me from 866-431-1142

These guys are the reason why the brokerage business has a bad name.  They have no business acumen and no sense of what professionalism really is.  You'd have to be the dumbest person in the world to do business with a bunch of high school drop-out wanna-be Wall Street high rollers.

JTF is a roomful of kids screaming and trying to sell some stock that they know next to nothing about--total sales job.  It is a real life 'Boiler Room'--making 500 cold calls for 12 hours a day.  If they have 100 brokers they must have gone through 10,000 the turnover is so high.  All they want is you to buy so they can get commission.

He calls me at least 3x/wk and gets pissed off when I tell him to not call me again in spite of him insisting we have made contact in the past.  How do I get him to stop?

    1. Ask him his name, by law he has to tell you FIRST AND LAST
    2. Say "ok (name) take me off your list, call back and i will call the FTC"
3.Watch the movie "boiler room" John Thomas = JT Marlin

Chris Atayo from John Thomas calls, asks for my boss, and when I ask what it's concerning, he refuses to say. When told he's in a meeting asked to leave a message, he insists that I interrupt my boss in the meeting because he's urgently awaiting this call.

He is not. My boss has no legitimate business with John Thomas. So I go back on the line after he's been holding for some time, and tell him my boss says he has no business with JT and don't call again. Chris Atayo responds with a lot of venom in his voice, "Put him on the line now."

I don't understand what these people think they will gain if they get to the person they're trying to reach by such underhanded techniques. They're for sure not gaining any trust with potential clients. Who would deal with these scumbags?

"Making Money," based on the lack of eloquence and poor grammar (it's because not cause) I'm assuming you are one of the high school dropouts who works at John Thomas Financial.  Hey I have an idea, how about you apply for a job at a real firm like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, or Morgan Stanley.  Oh wait, I forgot you can't because no one from JTF graduated from college thus precluding all of those scumbags from ever living the real Wall Street investment banker life.

    Interesting
People can't get jobs or have no business I guess, 'because' you people have a lot time to blog about a telephone number.

    God Bless You All!

I made 3 million dollars this year working for JTF and thats because When I get people like you on the phone I click in theirrrrr faaaace!!!!!Click Click Clickkkkkkk!!! It feels good who wants to deal with someone that asks questions and thinks we care what you have to say! So instead of saying shut up... I CLICK CLICK CLICKKKKKKKKK!  Then when I do get a stupid buyer on the phone, which is about 80% of the time, I put them in a corner and could sell the tickers "POO" for all I care. Because I'm GoOOOOOood. If anyone is wondering why we stay in business it's because the world is getting dumber and we are getting smarter and better.

Sorry I was just messing with all of you to get a rise out of an audience of defenseless bystanders of these acts. I'm not actually a broker.

I retired last year, at the age of 26. Booyahhhhhh! How many of you like Jim Cramer?

    Funny
I get these calls freqently.  Chris Perrillo, nice to meet you, but "no I don't remember you Chris, unless you are referring to the last time I hung up on you".   He would be more successful in the conversation if he didn't talk over you.  Check out the movie "Boiler Room" and then see if he can sell you.

Got a call last week from some guy named John. I asked what the call was in reference to and he didnt even acknowledge the fact I asked anything. Just launched into some long winded schtick about some company that I had never heard of. (Mind you I actually trade the market pretty frequently w/ e-trade). Some alleged up and coming something or other that I just HAD to buy into. (For only 100 dollars...whew...certainly beats paying 8 bucks a trade doing it my way...such a deal!) These guys have the decorum of a bag of nails. Total boiler room if there ever was one. If you are bored you can toy with them a little bit too, it can be fun. Start asking legitimate investor questions and watch as these double digit IQ neanderthals start stumbling like a one legged running back.

Chop Shop replies to Wall Street Journal

You would like a call from that company anytime? Thumbs up to John Thomas Financial (aka boiler room). Gee, I wonder if Wall Street Journal is the same moronic individual posting all of these other preposterous claims? This chop shop is so transparent, a bunch of underachieving parasites preying on the Wall St. name to beg for some respect in the hopes of pulling a fast one. Haahhaha, its pathetic and equally comical to me that you people think you will actually gain some respect in this industry. Go back to working the games on the boardwalk of the Jersey Shore.
