COLD CALLS replies to SFe, NM
I get many sales calls a day that I have to weed through for the owner of my company, recently John Thomas started calling. You can always tell a sales call, it asks for the long version of a short name, they ask " what was his cell number again?" I would loose my job if I started putting calls through like that, or giving out the owners number. I do other things besides answer the phone and it tic's me off that I have to waste my time on these phone calls. There are other ways to get customers, I wish companies would understand that sales calls turn people off, especially when you get unprofessional kids on the phone who don't say thank you, they are rude, and just hang up when they can not get immediately through to the individual. That is not going to make forward the message, it will totally mistrust the company that is calling.

    JTF Big Joke
I received a phone call from JTF selling me IOC.  They would call me 3 times a day every day.  I eventually played along to get as much information as I could from them. I eventually spoke to a self proclaimed vice president/partner/managing director; Ron Cantalupo.   This gentleman, insisted I invest in 100 shares of IOC, he claimed to be an expert on the company and energy equities in general.  I just listened.  I then began my research into JTF and its shady characters.  I looked up Ron Cantalupo on FINRA BrokerCheck and he spent a few years in a federal prison for a drug operation, I don't need a convicted felon anywhere near my money, and figured if he was high up on the food chain at this mickey mouse firm the top brass couldn't be any better.  Thomas Belesis, the CEO of the company has a license full of unauthorized trading, and other fraudulent activites.  The company itself has questionable practice in pump and dump schemes(IOC), and a fraud alert on some of their private placements.  It amazes me how these jokers promote themselves to be financial experts, yet I bet none have a degree more than 2 years of community college.  As for having an office on wall street? Last time I walked down wall street there are plenty of office spaces and residential spaces for rent.  Take note of how the people defending JTF cannot spell, and/or have childish grammatical errors.

FYI, any firm can be located on Wall st , so the person who repeatingly keeps say "currently located on wall st" should shut up, there are hundreds of offices and floors that the owners are trying to rent out, being on wall st means jack [***]...goldman sachs and morgan stanley SB don't have one office on wall st.

CEO- tommy belesis .....how much fraud can you possibly have on record??? the guy above mentions ron C which i have never heard of, but Tommy i have and i looked him up on the FINRA broker check and WOWWWWWWW, no wonder why this firm comes on the auto google fill in as "john thomas financial SCAM"

my friends STUDIED there for a month before i told him all this crap and he quite the next day, they dont pay you to study or anything, what a scam...because its on wall st these kids think they are the [***] - YOU HAVE NO MONEYYY!!!

YES, its possible to make good money at this firm, POSSIBLE, but it will take a hell of a lot longer than being from a firm like smith barney. merrill lynch or any REPUTABLE names like that.

    this is how JTF works...
tommy buys stock, he tells wayne kaufman to recomend those stocks to the 100 plus brokers, those brokers sell those stocks to their clients and pitch them using cold calling...now when those clients buy those stocks, tommy is making strait BANK off of it (hence the stock rising)...BOOM he sells it and the clients who bought it further down the "scam train" lose money (hence the guy who lost 250K)

NOW, with the IOC scam...came out at about 9-10$, tommy probably bought at the equivelent of 4-6$ per share, jumped to about 20$ from what i remember.....this guy knows how to make money but wont share unless you are apart of his family or inner circal.

tommy has been fired and sued, fined or penaltilized at EVERY firm he has worked at, just broker check him

jtf isn't at all as bad as you guys are making it seem.

they are just an agressive firm, VERY agressive ha.

tommy's past might be bad, but it's not that bad.  it's not like he's pitching you, he's doing business to make the firm grow...people can change

and the bank they keep their assets in is a highly trusted bank, so the only way for anyones money to get taken by tommy, is for the bank to screw you over, not tommy.

i have had an account with them since they came about.  so it's not like i have an account with a new employee but i do hear that a lot of the new guys, which are called junior brokers, are very promising when i speak with my broker.

I would not do business with any company that cold calls me and somewhere in the process asks for my SSN. I would not care if they were handing out thousand dollar bills as a thank you. I also do not care if "that is how things are done".  It's not how I do things.  If I miss out on thousands of dollars as a result, so be it.

so then how would you do business? the reason why you probably wouldnt do business like that is becuase you arent rich enough to have brokers call you.

im assuming you would only do business with a stock broker if you knew him or if he worked at a brand name firm?

Strange - I didn't find an Email address on their web site.  You can fill out a "Contact Us" form which you then print and snail-mail.  Again, strange.

My caller ID also shows them calling from "000-000-0000".  One hasta wonder why they make it difficult to contact them, eh?

I continue to get calls from this company and I continually let them know we are not interested.  I have even let them know to stop calling.  As soon as I let them know we will not accept calls from their company they are rude! They simply hang up on me!  This is NOT a professional firm.

A man identified himself as Darren, asked for our owner by first name, not Mr.  He proceeded to refuse to identify the name of his company or purpose for the call.  He proceeded to claim his relative was friends with our owners child.  Again I asked for purpose or place of business, he got even more rude.  He said "fine, then i will have to call him on his cell".  This firm calls every year, uses the same tactic.  They must hire all of their employees from the same boiler room and they all happen to have relatives that are friends with one child. Do not do business with JTF.  Anyone with any business sense knows you don't build trusted relationships with a kid out of college who cold calls you, especially a rude one.

    its not THE stock

its SORT OF like a mutual fund (i only know this because a friend works there)

its a basket of stocks with facebook as the main leverage.......basically there are more percentage of facebook shares within the basket than any other company.

they arent goign to [***] you over, its not a boiler room...u can visit them and see for urself.

i am getting into the financial business and this place is an option, still thinking about it though.

Looks like this site is making it difficult for scammers like "bob" to trick people out of money on the phone.

When the shill says it's not a SCAM, it means it's a FILTHY SCAM. When the shill says it's not a boiler room, it means he's got internet access in the boiler room where he scams from and decided to make fake posts on site like this. When the shill says they aren't going to F you over ... well you know exactly what that really means LOL.

Anyone who cold calls you to try to sell you an "investment" is a SCAMMER. Period. No exceptions. No legitimate investments are sold this way these days. None. No exceptions.

    Billy replies to Incorrect Statement
Subject:  This letter was written to Cynthia Fagen from an anonymous source about John Thomas Financial

    Dear Ms. Fagen,

I am deeply disheartened by an article you wrote earlier this week.
I have been contemplating sending you this email, but ultimately decided I must.
I just feel you should know all of the info on the subjects of your articles, especially when you show them in such a positive light.

Sure, Tommy might have given an occupier a job, but I can assure you it was solely to get the positive press he so used you to generate on his behalf.
If you do some homework on Mr. Belecis, you will find he is a documented criminal - and a major one.

He was most recently a federal witness to a triple murder of which he was an accomplice.
Mr. Belecis turned federal informant against Chritstian Tarantino in Federal court of Suffolk County before The Honorable Judge Seibert.
He did this to not only preserve his freedom, but also his brokerage license by confessing to his own involvement and testifying to that of his associates.
He took the stand and confessed to his involvement in the murders as well as his years as a major drug trafficker.
It is all documented and easy to find.
We are not talking petty crimes here, we are talking MURDER!

These were not Mr. Belecis' only indiscretions.
He was also involved in a fraudulent stock deal where he promoted and sold a non existing stock to unsuspecting investors that lost millions.
The stock was for a product related to Amber Alert, the great system our government has put in place to protect and help find missing children.
The fact that he would prey upon people with a stock subject that does so much good goes to show you the extent of his greed and amoral behavior.
Mr. Belecis ended up testifying against his accomplices in this case with the SEC to save his precious brokerage license.
He then went on continuing to rip off the unsuspecting and trusting public.

It is just very disheartening to see a puff piece written about such a person when the rest of the good, hardworking, and honest Americans struggle to get by every day while this known criminal gets a free pass on felony murder, drug trafficking, and stock fraud charges while he continues to prey upon unsuspecting investors.

It sure would be nice to see someone actually dig for the truth about this person and put THAT out in the world.

Feel free to do some research and you will easily find EVERYTHING I wrote above is 100% true and accurate.

    All my best,

    Anonymous

P.S.  I am sure you are a credible reporter and would prefer to always report factual information.  So, please let me know if you intend to print a retraction or a new article.  In absence of that, I am compelled to send this email to the other reporters at your paper so that someone can report the truth about Thmas Belecis already

thats funny because i dont work there and im not going to work there. my friend does though.

people, YOU CANNOT SCAM PEOPLE LIKE YOU COULD IN THE 90s.

really though, you're making yourself sounds really stupid because...ALL AND BY THAT I MEAN EVERY STOCK BROKER IN HISTORY MADE COLD CALLS....the movie with will smith, what do u think its called when he was making hundreds of phone calls a day and not hanging the phone up for the 8 extra minutes, COLD CALLS.

im not defending JTF, im just letting you in on a little secret that nobody knows, no1 knows how a broker starts, they think its like day trading and picking stocks.. no you need clients with a lot of money. and in order to get clients u need to cold call, unless you OF COURSE (since sooo many people are in this position) are from malibu and know 30 millionairs willing to hang u over 5 million dollars each.

im getting into this industry at a brand name firm called morgan stanley, and even im going to have to cold call even at MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY.
