I got a similar call from an Indian guy who gave the name Bryan.  Gave me the following numbers to call:  432-360-4963, 973-200-6677 and 973-975-0970.   Called when I was in the car driving, thank goodness.  If I had been on my computer, I might have been tempted to do something I'd regret

I just got a call from an indian guy claiming he is calling from microsoft cause I have a problem in my computer. He said i needed to follow his instructions if I want it fixed. I said im not following [***]. He can tell me the process and I'll decide if I want to go through with it or not. (i knew he was a scammer but i wanted to [***] with him) He kept trying to convince me he needed to do it step by step WITH me. After going back and forth for some time, (dont give in to them when they are being persistent) he gave in and told me the step by step process. of course im not really paying attention cause i know its all [***]. but i pretend like I do saying things like "wait what did you say I had to click after that?" and so forth. after [***] with him for a couple of minutes, he goes, "can i tell you something ma'am?" and starts cussing me out.  im having the time of my life cause i was waiting for this so i can give him a piece of my mind about his scamming ass.

Had a call from an Indian guy from Windows Service Center saying there were problems with my internet browser. As caller display showed up as "International Unavailable" I asked them their phone number which they gave as 01274792474 which is located in Bradford UK. As I maintain and repair my own computers and was aware of this scam I had a few words with the guy and put the phone down. My 85 year old mother inlaw also had a call from this company and they wouldn't believe her when she told them she doesn't have a computer.

Seems that this is still going on.  Got an iPhone recently and started getting these calls from an unknown number.  I decided that I would answer it, and got the same story.  It was an Indian fellow, called himself Frank.  He told me that my computer was infected by malware and that I needed to follow steps to get rid of it.  I basically told him to [***], figuring that it was a scam.  Glad I did.

We also have had calls from this number along with several other numbers many of which were number withheld.

Having suffered this for a long time I found a call blocker and purchased it for about £35 then paid another £35 for my number to be taken off various lists. This had to be paid each year.

The problem with this call blocker is that I had to enter the numbers by hand using my telephone which means I had already received the call. Often I had to dial 1471 to get the number then enter it myself.
After a year or so the scam calls increased even though I kept entering the numbers and kept a record of them on my computer.

Talking to a friend and saying I felt this call blocker was useless I was introduced to a new device I had never heard of called True Call.

I have to say this system did the job and did it well I have not received a single scam call since I installed it.

My phone can be set up on the internet then synced with my home phone by the press of a button.
I can see a record of all calls received or made along with all numbers on the block list.

I can block complete country or area codes or single numbers by a key press.

I can even record calls by the press of a single button and play back on my computer.

This is an amazing blocker and I highly recommend it to any person suffering with scam calls.
    Check it out here.

A major point with True Call is that they will set it all up for you on the web site then sync it with your home phone they are so helpful it is amazing.

Yes I notified Microsoft a few years ago. I used Network Solutions to look up the owner of the url they gave me. It identified a name address and company in India. The idiot did not anonymous his ownership.  I gave it all to Microsoft figuring they have lawyers. Nothing happened. But now MS has a warning about this scam on their website.

Best tactic today is to waste their time if you have it and learn to curse them in Hindu.

Was just reading this older thread and noticed the reference to "True Call".  I have heard a number of things about this company "NOTHING NICE"!  They are cashing in on people who are sick of these calls and are selling them a system to make them go away.  I am writing around 5/2015 and there are now a number of scams going around for the same thing.  Scams saying they can get rid of the scammers.  Don't fall for them as they will only take your money AND YOU'LL STILL BE GETTING CALLS.
Funny I read about True Call on eBay of all places.  Someone selling some kind of equipment from that company and asking a hefty price too.  The only way to avoid these calls today is.........there isn't other than shutting off the phone.
    Just thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, I got to thinking when these guys called me and I told 'em over the phone, "How do you know I have a virus on my computer? What if I just took it out of the box and started using it? What if I have a Mac?"
