- Watch outMy husband got a call lastnight from this place asking if he got this papers in the mall about being sued. He said no and the guy on the phone asked well is your name so and so and is your ssn# this. My husband said yes to the name but no the ssn# since it did not match up after that he just hung up the phone. I am glad he didn't give him the number. They are doing nothing but trying to pull a fast one on innocent people! Plz everyone watch out. I am so glad I decided to look the number up online. It didn't seem right to me that they would be calling out of the blue like and right after christmas!
- dan replies to LisaThey called my cell phone, and hung up, I called back they some guy ans. the phnoe says it is a law firm of Lankin but would not take my all or transfre me to anyone.I could hear in back ground others leaving msg of "This is the Law Firm ""
- Block the numberThese fools started calling my cell since yesterday. Always in the morning but I always miss them. They leave me voicemails. First time was a guy and I couldn't understand a thing he was saying. Second time this morning was a woman who kept saying they were looking for a particular person and that they were calling from the thomas landis law offices. The name of whom they say they're looking for, and I guess I can be glad for having a good memory, was a person who was the tenant before me at the last apartment I lived in. Looked up these guys on google and lo and behold, i find a plethora of info like this.
If they're calling your cellphone, block them. If it's your office and your workplace has the capability just call forward them back to themselves. I read somewhere that some lady got tricked into paying them 100 bux and later on found out that her bank account had an unauthorized withdrawl of 900 bucks. - JamesCalled me to when I answered was looking for my lil brother.
Said he was from a law firm but would not say the name he gave me
his name but I think it was fake. They guy had a weird accent

- coloradoguyThe representative called around 8:45 am MST on January 28, 2011 (from phone number, 215-526-2600) and immediately asked for my name. I said it was me. Then he asked for my SSN, to prove it was me, and said the conversation would be recorded. I did not give him my SSN, and asked who it was that was calling. He did not offer an answer just yet. Yet immediately continued on to inform me of a debt that they are trying to collect, around $380. (I still had not offered my SSN to prove it was me.) After he stated his case, I informed him that his facts (which were quite vague, reaching) made absolutely no sense. He then said, paraphrasing, "So you intend to NOT pay today." I asked him to send a letter with facts, he said that they had already done so, and stated my current mailing address. (?) I asked if I could call him back after I called Citibank to confirm these details. He suggested I not waste my time by calling Citibank, and that I would only have until 5 pm EST today (1/28/11) to make this payment. I had my crying daughter in the background, and I needed to get her to school. So I asked the agent for contact information. The agent from Thomas Landis, was named Marvin Harris (877-543-6151 x233). I do not intend to pay any money to Thomas Landis, especially after looking into their company practices on Google. And more importantly, this seems like fraud, because I have no recollection (nor proof) that an account was not paid. All my credit reporting services, as of today, show good standing all the way back to 1998.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is the last that I will hear from them. I hope they send a letter so I can respond to it asking them not to contact me again. Legally, they then cannot contact you again. They're only option is to actually sue you. And they don't have a leg to stand on. So they won't. They'll just move on to the next caller.
Good luck.- Caller: Thomas Landis

- Mrs AggravatedI just got a call from 215-526-2600. I spoke to a gentleman who said I am associated with something called dirt farmer. He knew my husbands name as well but other than that all of the information they had was wrong. The rep argued that all of my info is verifiable... even though the only thing they knew was my name and my husbands name.....so I asked to speak to his manager Mia Weaver. She said that she would remove me since they have called multiple times now. There must be a way to stop these calls....HELP!!!!

- SurveilanceCalled from 215-526-2600 saying it was from Siler & Associates law office to call back at 877-543-6151. The message was one of the less agressive messajes I've ever heared from a debt collector, but still calling at work, do they think people can address issues at work? Your co-workers will hear any problems you have which doesnt consern them; collectors should take this in to consideration. By the way some of us can't pay because 3 people lost their job at home not because we don't want to or because we love to get collection calls all the time. Tried to get help but cccs and those type of companys try do make you a deal from $900.00 to pay $825 per month on bills; if I only could! Believemt this economy blew away my dreams of ever ownng a home.
