Got a call, too, but I was helping my son with his homework so I didn't answer.  I called back and it said it was disconnected.  This is a scam and the scammers are most likely using a facade that shows this number but they are actually calling from another.

First there is a message that says, lower your interest rate on your credit card account.  When I connect to an representative (who sounded like he didn't even have a high school education), I asked him which account this was in relation to.  He said my Visa/Mastercard account.  When I asked him issued by which bank, he said that he was not authorized to give me that information.  Clearly, this is a scam to get your financial information and not a call from a bank that you actually have a relationship with.  Beware!

Just called me as well on my CELL phone! No message, just a number and location of Texas. I already have quite a few numbers I will be submitting to the FCC, now I have a new one. Neverending.

Glad I googled this number and found these postings!  I, too, show it's from Texas on my phone.  I almost called it back because I used to live in TX so I thought it might be someone I know.  Although I have no clue where 281 area code is.  I guess it wouldn't make a difference since everyone is saying it's disconnected.

Received this call today at 1:30 pm on my cell phone.  About lowering interest rates.

I am on Indiana no call list. How do I stop this phone call?

Maybe there is a way to have a computer program continually call their number, thereby tying it up and giving them back the annoyance that they are causing everyone else.

they called to ask if i wanted to lower my interest rate, and then asked me to verify my name.  i said "can YOU verify my name? do you even know who youre calling?" and they hung up.  this could be a scam, i have heard they will take all your info if you give it to them, including the account number you think theyre calling about.  be careful!

It was a recorded message from some credit card company. First they made it sound like I was in trouble (how? I don't owe anything on a credit card) and then "this is your last chance to lower your credit card payment ---blah blah -- if you owe more than $3000"  I'm on the do not call list, so STOP calling me!
