- Darlene| 1 replyIf this company is legit, then why are they calling me telling me I have illegal transactions trying to go thru my card and I don't even have a Bank of America card. I only have a credit union debit card!
- GregI recieved a call from this number twice last night and missed it i looked it up and noticed it was a number out of Newark Deleware. I recieved another call from it today and I answered it was a recorded message from Bank of America Fraud Department, saying I had I tune charges that looked Fraudulent. I hung up logged onto the BOA website and noticed my card was charged 5 times, 1 time for 268 dollars and 3 times for 1 there was also another charge for 1 for USA Today or something. I called up BOA customer service number where they asked me if I paid my phone bill with this card and they then cancelled the card and said they will credit me back and reissue me a card.

- Doctor BlaseThis turned out to really be B of A in my case.
The robot advised me to press 2 if I hadn't purchased anything from "Avenues India" and I was routed to a live person who did have the last 4 digits of my card before I gave it to him, he saw that I had a NetFlix charge coming up tomorrow (something no one would have known unless they were looking at my actual charge history). Only info I was asked to provide was my billing zip code.
Turned out that indeed, B of A fraud had correctly tagged this $134.14 charge in India (!) as being a fraud and they cancelled my card on the spot.
It could be that someone is spoofing the B of A REAL number to "cash in" on this number, but in today's instance it was real and a good thing.- Caller: Bank Of America

- j.chad received a couple calls from this # and decided to google. it is the BOA fraud department. THey were calling because I recently (last night) used this card to make 2 purchases, I haven't used the card in a very long time so they were questioning that. I'm glad they are so vigilant...

- NikkiHad a missed call from this number, tried to call it back but got a busy tone. Googled it and got this post. I immediately check my BOA account online and it said a fraud alert had been posted on my account, I called the number provided on the website and found out they had put an alert on my card because someone out of state had tried to use it. I had just check my account online yesterday. They immediately canceled the card and issued me a new number. I suggest you do not ignore this call. Thank you BOA.
- LizI was on the phone with BoA when this call came through on my cell... the representative I was on the phone with (by calling the number on the back of the card) could not verify the phone number at all. I wouldn't tell them [***].
- 14RaceFanReceived calls from this number, as well. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. Googled and found these postings. Checked my BOA CC account online and there was a fraud alert on the account. Called BOA and cancelled the card. They are reissuing. Thanks Everyone.
- RoopeshThis is not Bank Of America. It is another company that tracks fradulent activity on your card that could be any of Amex, Visa, Mastercard etc.
You may confirm this by calling the credit cad company directly.
Dont panic just seeing a number you dont recognize. Fear out, reasoning and action in.

- draterGot a call from this number, no message. Called my B of A number on the back of my card. Turned out there were a couple charges not made by me. My card was canceled on the spot.
- niteowlThis is Bank of America..they were verifying a purchase that I made online. I called the number on the back of my card and BofA re-routed me to the correct department. I think this a great service and very happy that they called to verify my purchase!

- Laura replies to TheresaI too got a message from 302-731-1166. We had already been notified that there were fraudulent charges on my husband's BOA card. The interesting thing is that when I dialed the above number (autodial on my phone) I got a man's voice and I said that I was responding to a recorded message. He said 'No" and I appologized and hung up. Sounded strange to me
- cardholderthe number is Legit....I just called and they do fraud services for BOA cards. It is real freaky though -- they start asking for all your personal info before ever ID'ing themselves. Lousy approach, but they are legit.
- nnnCalled me 2 times. I called B of A. Not them calling. I called the FCC at 1-888-225-5322 and filed a complanit. You should do the same!!!!!!
- Card holder| 1 replyI got the number called. The man from Band of America said that they found a few of transactions were odds, so they called and verify if we had made those transactions. No any personal information was asked during the phone conversation. Right after I talked to him, I called Bank of America to confirm if that phone call was legitimate. Yes, it was.

- rsmelody| 4 repliesThree call during the night - even 0800 this morning (SUNDAY) I called it back, it does not ID who the number is when voice message answered saying all ops were busy, please hold. If this were BANK OF AMERICA they would ID themselves.....
DONT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD ###.. Report this to BANK OF AMERICAN and the FCC - Bank of America customer replies to rsmelody| 3 repliesThis # is with Bank of America. It is their Fraud department. You need to call them back to verify charges. Call the 800 # on the back of your card and ask to speak to their fraud department. That will provide peace of mind in case you have any doubt . . . .
- john cThis number showed up on my caller ID so I Googled it and came to this website. I did as suggested and called the customer service number on the card. It was a legit call from their fraud department. I had just made an online purchase the night before and, since I hadn't used the card in quite a while, they were checking to see if it was a legitimate charge. I assured them that it was and everything is fine. I recently had my Discover card stolen and wasn't even aware of it until their fraud dept. contacted me. I'm glad these people keep tabs on our accounts for unusual activity. With all the internet scams and identity theft you can't be too careful.
- ThanksI appreciate the above comments - I received a call that I was suspicious about. and following suggestions on the above comments, I called the Customer Service number on the back of my credit card. The call and number were real, they had identified and blocked a fraud charge against my account. BofA is sending me a new card. Thanks for your helpful comments.
- JohnCalled the number on back of credit card and found out about several fraudulent charges, BOA declined/removed these charges, unknown if I will be charged $50 or not but it's alot better than the $1000+ charged to my card.
