Caller ID: Marathon FL.  Let call go to VM.  No msg.  I called back.  Answered by live person selling life and funeral insurance.  Informed her we're registered on Do Not Call.  She apologized and politely agreed to remove us from their list.

Nothing said. Just hangs up on you. Scam or likely phishing. Think they are IP calls. I just blocked. Suggest you do same.

    Beware folks!

First of all, if you are on the Do Not Call Registry, you shouldn't be receiving this call. Telemarketing calls are illegal. Period. The likelyhood that your number is taken off the list is slim to none.

Telemarketing scams are the new email spam. Plus, telemarketing scams are on the rise. Telemarketing scams work because people don't suspect that they are being scammed. Criminals prey on the gullible and vulnerable. Know the signs, first clue would be receiving an unknown call (caller id) from an out of area caller (second clue) trying to sell you some type of service (third clue). If it is a robo call, then you should know to just hang up. Better yet, know the signs and don't pick up.

Never ever! Never ever! Never ever provide personal information over the phone. Never. In all fifty states, you have that right!!! Period. Not full address, not full name, definitely not social security number and definitely not bank/credit card information.

If you need any type of life insurance, there are many reputable agencies advertised on national and local tv, newspapers, and many different community agencies. Or just ask your neighbors, coworkers or friends who they recommend.

Be smart folks, financial fraud and Identity theft can be timely and costly. Your personal information is a gold mine for criminals. Criminals always look for the gullible and vunerable. Never give out personal information over the phone!

Almost answered as we visited the location last year. But then I though who did we give our number to? Nobody.
So this has got to be a scam. Lifted from a legit business.

I increased my call ring from 3 to 6. These twits hung up after the 4th ring.
No message. Couldn't be important. I only allow one of my land line phones to actually ring.
If it's family they have my cell. Which is off unless I need it.

I've seen the Panasonic call block phones. But a 250 limit no where near enough. Maybe not even 1,200.
Have to look into computer programs for limitless call block, which I think your own phone company should provide.
Ours only blocks local. Which is useless since most come from out of area and out of state.

Not answering helps. I've actually reduced the number of these calls just by not answering. And never, never call them back to asked to be removed from their list. Because they might remove you from their list but will sell or give your number to any number of others scammers/spoofers/spammers.

I used to get several a day. Now I only get two or three a week or less. But just be prepared for the folks that the DNC list doesn't block; charity, political, surveys, and maybe something others.  Best defense is caller ID and an answering machine where you can listen to the message as it is being made. Also the DNC list only lasts for 3 to 5 years. Then you have to re-up so to speak. At least that's how it used to be.

Just saw another directory and the number belongs to a Funeral Expense Insurance company.
    Automated Telemarketer.
Really?  I don't even live in Florida.

This is a Senior Benefits Call (according to another person who called them back and that's how the sales person answered.- No seniors at our place. If I were interested it would be a local outfit.

Called this number back and it was for low cost funeral life insurance  plan and they were willing to give my number to a representative in my area to which I said no thanks.  I asked how did they get my number and she said "your phone company sold us your  number".  If this is true,  honestly how fair is that for us that we are harassed in our own homes with this crap?  I need to invest in a phone blocking device.

Yeah, we're on it too.  What worries me is someone called and asked for me and I said "yes"?  Now I'm afraid they may have been scamming to find out if they have the right name with some of my other information (esp. since we have Anthem).  Very worrisome.  I am going to start a list of these numbers myself as well.

I received a call from this number as well.  As usual, I let the answering machine pick up calls from unknown, blocked and unavailable callers.  Even though I only use the automatic, robotic sounding response, this time the idiot caller started speaking and did for awhile before she finally realized no one was responding.  People from this number and a host of others call everyday, waking me in the morning and annoying me in the evening.  I never answer.

Crooks and scammers ignore the do not call list.  Their numbers are faked by computer and therefore cannot be traced or stopped.

4 calls from this number in 2 days (3/2 & 3/3/15 - I do not answer - they do not leave a message.  Used up all my blocking numbers with AT&T.  Am on Federal / State DNC lists.  Files 2 written complaints w/FCC - useless.  Short of getting my own call blocking box, ideas?
