- DeadbeatI have a list spanning several years of well over 500 fraudulent callers, scammers, telemarketers, robo-callers, and other telephone vultures. It does no good to report them. They just pull up stakes, move somewhere else, set up new numbers and operate a new boiler room. I have a simple rule. If I don't know the number, I don't answer it. If all of you people would do the same thing, those idiots wouldn't be in business. That's what Caller ID is for. There is no law on any book in any jurisdiction that says you have to answer the phone when it rings.
- Helen replies to BJust got this call and she said she was calling about high electric bills.
- flyplayneCalled this morning, did not answer. Called @ 1326 and I answered. Woman selling funeral insurance. When I started asking for mailing address, she said she would take me off phone list and hung up.
- Call type: Telemarketer

- Theresa| 1 replyI just don't answer the phone at all if I don't recognize the number. Let's face it if it is important they will leave a message. Obviously it is either a scam or telemarketer!!! FYI The Do Not Call List is a SCAM in an of itself. I always register again when they tell me it will expire and I still get these ridiculous calls!
- Hugh replies to TheresaWell, I'm curious of who is telling you that you will expire from the DNC since it is permanent and once signed, always signed until you personally opt out or you cancel your phone with the carrier.
Did you know that when you re-register, your number goes off any current list (in limbo and inactive) for 31 days? You didn't know? You say the DNC is a scam and yet you obviously have no clue what it does, how it works, and the SOLE and only ONE purpose that it was created and exists today! I can see that your opinion can't be swayed by any useless facts. - EloiseI've actually been getting MORE spam calls since I added my number to the Do Not Call registry. So frustrating! It's to the point that I don't even answer my phone anymore!

- Patriot327 replies to FiFiSince I started my list, in October of 2013, I've recorded 421 calls from separate numbers, most of which are scammers or phishers of personal information or account numbers. Many are political and some are charity calls. The only reason I'm aware of the nature of the calls is this blog. I never answer any call from an unrecognizable number. Of the 421 calls, many have been duplicated several times. It's really a losing battle but I've learned a lot about human nature that puts me on guard. I've also learned to be cynical, which I don't think is necessarily a good thing. Unfortunately, the next step is possibly paranoia. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at some of the tactics these criminals try. But scamming seniors and unsuspecting young people is criminal and I am at a loss as to why it's not stopped. It's a shame, but in a free and open society, you get the good with the bad.

- Gloria from IllinoisI received a call on 5-1-15 at 12:01 p.m. my Caller I.D. listed the call as Out of Area. A female with a heavy Indian accent called me stating: "I am from Senior Care" I immediately asked her to put me on her Do-Not-Call-List and I told her that I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU. She immediately hung up. Obvious scam! No offense but "Hey Guys I'm not a Senor! NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION. Too bad that the scam artist don't care that they are giving people with heavy Indian accents a bad reputation as con artists wanting to rip off people in the USA. I too have used up my blocked numbers and will look into a program to continue to add more numbers to block. My husband works in IT and he loves to toy with these people. I enjoy wasting their time and will relish leading them down another empty pocket rabbit hole.

I've told them I am being cryogenically frozen, or shot into space... doesn't phase them... between them, the "IRS"... "US Treasury"... "Credit Card Services"... "Microsoft Support" ... I'm fly swatting 16 scam calls a week it seems...
