How do you block these calls?

Received a call from this number just now .... Automated stated "This is Tom with Harris & Harris, a debt collection agency ....". BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. Sorry. I don't have anything that has gone to a debt collection agency. I fight to keep up on my bills.

They call me many time and I don't even have any credit, or credit card

I keep getting these calls, I don't owe anything that I am not making monthly agreed upon amounts, the bill they are referrring to has been paid in full.. I ignor their calls but it's agravating.  I tried to block them but the answer came back it was a private number?  so??  lol I would really like to get rid of them.. it's annoying to get 2 calls or more a day..

Advocate Health's hit men this is their idea of caring for the poor,under employed , people who have  high deductables from crappy employer group insurance, so they sell their debt's to Harris & Harris so they can turn a $1000.00 debt into $5,000.00 and ruin you, but they can say we are not sueing you, They Are!   I offered a payment plan I could live with (just out of LGH after 3X by pass) and within a week they tuyrned it over to H&H.

never ask who they were calling for and what the issue was. Just said they were a debt collector and I was to call them back.

Just call my work number and sit on the phone, never say anything.  This is harassment

Collections.  Horribly rude people using every method of intimidation possible.  Sad people live their lives treating people in such awful demeaning ways.  Awful human beings.

Become one less participant and let the phone ring with no kind of answer if you're able. That's how you make unknown pests "No Call List", along with patience and time. These morons need some kind of answer for anything to happen. Enough times of getting nothing from your number, they've got a good chance at losing interest in it.

Have called a few times. Leave a general message to call them back but don't say who they are calling  (4 people live here.) We don't answer.

This is ridiculous they call here leave a generic message do not stipulate who they are calling for.  I was involved in a car accident and yet I included all billing info goes to Allstate to be paid since I was the one who was injured by someone else hitting me and now I get the collection calls. Absolutely bull [***]!! I have called several times telling the Adjuster at Allstate to pay these medical bills, it's my credit being screwed up not theirs. I am beyond pissed off.

I have been getting automated calls from this number for several weeks. I don't owe any past-due debts. They must be after something, but I don't know what the scam is. I don't return their calls, though.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
