Received a bunch of calls from Borack in 2008 for an acct my husband had with Kay Jewlers. It was a legitimate debt, but we had no money at the time and ignored them, or even hung up on them. He/we were served with summons for court appearance for early 2009. We went and had the option of mediating it or pursuing our innocence or something... we knew it was our debt so we were open to work out a mediation deal. Borack conferenced in and worked out that of roughly $1600 we would pay $1460 by a certain date in full, OR $150/month on three preset months before paying in full to reach $1600. We knew we would pay it in full the following week because of our tax refund, so we opted fo the first option. It was dismissed with prejudice in court and we made the payment and received the settlement letter (from Julie). Unfortunately, they were outsourced / contracted BY another debt agency ,Northstar Capital/Zenith Acquisition... well the debt came off my husbands credit report, but in oct 2010 it showed up again by zenith!
Thankfully, i called borack again (looked up court records to ensure it was dismissed, called to verifiy paid and request another settlement letter) and spoke w/ Julie again and she advised me to send a certified copy of settlement letter to the credit bureaus. She was very detailed and eager to help.. we hold ourselves accountable and while it started rocky w/ them, it WAS our fault, not their's.
I feel this is alegitimate deal and no, i dont work for them and never have, I just know that our situation was deserved by us - it doesnt matter HOW we got into the debt, all that matters is we paid it ... now to get zenith to remove this again and we will be on the road to recovery! :)

Interesting to see all of the posts about this Borack & Associates "law office".  It is sad to see so many people scared out of their pants thinking that because they got summoned, they will go to jail or have to pay these clowns.  FYI- in 2008 my now ex-husband was served with papers from this "law office" that bought our old debt.  We immediately responded to the court with intent to defend and waited for our hearing date.  A year and 2 months later, (way too late) we got a date and showed up.
Guess what?  No one from Borack showed up and when the judge called their offices to make a conference call, the receptionist told the judge that no one by the name of the attorney suing us worked at that office.  
Amazing!!!  The judge dismissed the case for lack of prosecution and we haven't heard from these clowns again.
People, do not be victims and fight back!!!!!

This guy (David Borack) is a joke. He cannot validate debts. Plus, he's tied up in a big lawsuit with his old firm. They canned him.

Just do to him what you to do any joke, and that's laugh.

Of course, send him a DV letter just to make sure he does not get cute with default judgments.

In 2008 they filed a stipulaton and had to go to court and was ordered to pay $150.00 a month.  They were taking the payments for LVNV funding.  Problem, come up to 2013, and the debt is paid off and we are sued again, this time from LVNV and a law group called eltman law group.  Borack and Associates is just one name of LVNV, aka Andreu and Palma, aka, LVNV Funding is a company of lots of names, Resurgent Capital Services, LP, LVNV Funding Capital Management Services, Astra, Venta, among others; but they are all one in the same according to many internet sources.
They are aggressive and will sue as many times as they can even when they have been paid off and put judgements on your credit report.  Beware this company is a known scammer
