Do they actually display their number on caller id? I haven't heard from this operation, but I would probably laugh if they called.

This caller claimed to be representing _____ Dianetics, and had the royal nerve to call our home on a Sunday afternoon! This woman was insisting she speak ONLY to my husband "to continue or cancel the subscription" since I was demanding she stop all FUTURE calls.  The woman told me "since your husband's name is the name on the subscription, I can't just cancel anything unless I speak directly to him." I verified with my husband he does NOT have any such subscriptions, so she was phishing; when I warned her she was in violation of my reporting her to the authorities, she said she didn't think there was anything to report.  THAT'S when I disconnected the call...and, reported her!

Continued to get calls from this number on both my cell and home number. Not sure how they got them. FInally answered today and told them I wasn't interested. They said they wanted to verify my mailing addresses, I told them I wouldn't verify because that's a privacy issue. They continued to pester and I continued to tell them no. They asked how I got on their mailing list. I said I have no idea I never signed up and to stop calling me.

I never signed up, truthfully. Hopefully Greta won't call me again.

That is not necessarily true.  If someone calls my home and I do not answer the phone, I still see their phone number on the list of calls received.

I can set my phone to call-forward to another number.  Many times, for fun, I just set it to call-forward to another scamming number.  That way, when the scientology nuts call me they are forwarded to another scientology idiot or a "pay off your credit card with lower interest rates" person.  I can still use my phone to call out to any number I wish.  My family has my cell phone number if they need to reach me.

I have registered for the Do Not Call list and I still get unwated calls.  The caller had a Brittish accent and was from Church of Scientology.  I have never given them my telephone number, and I am not interested.

You might want to consider a cease and desist all contact notice, certified and signature requested.  This will set the stage for legal action if they fail to comply.

Susan,  I can see that you did not read the information provided at the Dnc  Site when signing up on the Registry.  The DNC does not stop all unwanted calls.  It is just a "list" purchased by Registered with the FTC sales companies,  as a guide to who should not be called.  Go to the site and read for more concise info on how it works.

    L.A.
I've been getting calls, fliers, handwritten letters, etc. from them (Scientology) EVER SINCE I VISITED DISNEY IN FLORIDA OVER TEN YEARS AGO!  I BELIEVE SOMEONE AT THAT RESORT GAVE OUT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

They continue to bombard me even after I've asked them dozens of times to stop! Perhaps Disney resort needs to be investigated for giving out personal information.

I have received multiple calls from this number ranging from 8:00 AM in the morning until 10;30 PM at night.  I filed a formal complaint with the FTC today.  I had the same problem with the same number about six months ago, and also filed an FTC complaint, which stopped the calls until this month.  Hopefully the federal government can permanently shut this thing down once and for all.  If anyone has a street address for this number in LA, could you please post it here - I would like to pay this office a visit personally (I don't think the call center is located within the church proper).  Thank you.

If you get text messages from the cult (or anyone else you don't want) just text the word "stop" in reply.  My phone carrier advised this and it has definitely worked.

This is weird I watched a documentary on the Church of Scientology a couple of days ago and now I'm getting a half a dozen calls from them. I called the number back to tell him to stop calling. They don't answer Church of Scientology they say m,.??/:,, department so fast you have to ask them who they are they are very vague. It's the marketing department.
The woman tried to claim there is no way they could be calling me. I told her I have proof of them using the number I was calling them back on was recorded on my machine. I told her this was just going to be my first call and then I will call two more times and tell them to remove my number and to stop calling so that way I can file a legal injunction with my complaint.
I also got out the manual online for our new TV. My husband bought it but I suspected it was the kind that spies on it's users after this incident.
Sure enough "smart interactivity" was set to on.
I turned it off and then called my TV's marketing dept that must have been providing my viewing habits to this marketing department and others like it to opt me out.
I think the Church of Scientology is a cult.  I don't want them calling me just cause I watched a documentary on it. There just wasn't anything else on. Next I'll be getting offers for Omaha steaks another marketing serial offender
