Called me twice to ask me to donate to make a wish happen. When i asked him to send me some information. He hung up. The second they called it was a girl, and she did the same thing.

We are on the do not call list. I have asked them numerous times
to Not call, but they still call. This is a Harassment number.

Just got a call from this number at 6:45 p.m. on 4/20/10.  ID says "unkown caller" with the number 334-578-0114.  Tried to call the number back but got an operator message that the number cannot be completed as dialed.

I'm on the do not call list. I have been for many years and keep it current. This person is bothering the crap out of me and my phone service will not allow me to block the call. Please do something about this person. They are calling lots of people asking for money. How can I report them.

I received a call from this number today. 5/07/2010.  The caller identified herself as working with terminally ill children, wanting to grant a dying child's last wish.  She identified the organization as "A Child's Wish Association of Birmingham."

called the number of 334-578-0114 and all i get is a recording saying the caller is not available to leave message before hanging up   then its says right away i might add,  that this user mail box is full please hang up & try again???  whats up with that ???

called me my. caller id picked up. they held for a long pause before hanging up, as if to make so kind of weird point. I believe I've seen this number before. Anybody know who this is?

same thing happened to me today,they have been calling and i usually dont answer. of course i got hung up on.tried to call back from cell and it said the mailbox was full.im also on the do not call list!!

you can go to the do not call registry website to file a complaint against them.

Received a call from this number...said she was from Child's Wish...I said I do nothing over the phone.  She hung up...Cannot leave message on her mailbox as it is full...Big scam!!!

I work for a telemarketing outfit in the midwest that makes calls for a company called "Community Support" - A Childs Wish Association Of America.  Sounds kind of close to the real "Make a  Wish Foundation", doesn't it?. I am, as most who work there, a recent parolee. Most everyone who works there are undesirables.  Many recovering addcts (homeless helters) and  fresh ec-cons. It is the last hope stopping plae to get some knid of employment. We also call for various police, veterans, and firefighters, childern's luekemia, breast cancer...and so-called charities. I am not proud of what i do, I do have a conscience. But, it was the only work could obtain with my record. It is a true numbers game...a hunt for the dumb and dumber. It pays $8/hr.. On a good day, I will bring in over $400 dollars in commitments.Of these commitments, a whopping 40% are actually stupid enough to mail a check back to the POBOX when the BILL comes in the mail. It looks like a bill and is very effective - especially with the older seniors...who we prey on especially   If i obtain a certain sales quota for the week, I recieve a bonus. A whole extra 25 cents an hour to make my pay $8.25. If I would have a lousy week or two in a row....they fire you. For them, it is all about what $$$ u brught them within the last hour. If u have a bad start to a shift, not making the money that day....they tell u to go home that day after 2 hours. It does not matter what u made yesturday. There is constant turnover. Most telemarketiers last 3 weeks if that. I have somehow worked there for 6 months. We make 400-500 computer asissted calls a shift. As SOON as one call is terminated, within a second u are talking to the next sucker. It is hell. I work in a dirty office basement with 20-30 other people sitting in folding chairs, calling from folding tables...talking loadly into phones...shoulder to shoulder with the next caller. It is so loud, u can't really hear what the callee your talking to is saying 1/2 the time. The scripts are very misleading, making like you have contributed before or in the case of police fundraising...an officer. It is a fine line as to what u can say or not say. U are ALWAYS monitored...constantly. If u are good and bring them money....u can stretch your script to the limit...but never cross a line with obvious lies. However, u need to learn quickly how to resond to questions from "suckers" to not lie, but quickly give the answer they want to hear. In fact, this is the only real "training" a new telemarketer gets...how to sound and say things, but not to say things....to mislead. This, MISLEADING telemarketing, once your a seasoned telemarker, makes the difference in getting a sale or not from the "sucker". Every call is recorded...for the telemarketers protection. We have to give a rebuttal (offer for a less donation after the "sucker" first says no) NO MATTER what. This makes me feel worse. Often, it is an old lady who responds, "Husband just died, I just got out of the hospital, Daughter losng her house" and with tears she says she can't help this year. Yet, I have to continue to harrass her...asking for at least $15. If I don't do this...I am monitored by supervisors (bald, tattoos, piercings, ex-cons also) who will fire u on the spot. So, u become numb to it. U just do what is expected. This telemarketing company takes about 85% of your donation. Do the math from the numbers i spelled out, you can see they do very well for themselves. (The owner was an original disciple of the infamous MITCH GOLD - king of telemarketing in Orange County - he went to federal prison for 8 years for fraud - google it yourself and see.) Well,the other 15% goes to the charity...but remember...THEY have administration expenses themselves...taking most of the little money left. Believe me,they are  IF YOU GIVE TO ONE OF THESE SO-CALLED CHARITIES....EXPECT TO BE CONTINUALLY HARRASSED.
You will go on a "tap" sucker list....with telemarketers calling u for other donations under umbrella charities. Often the same caller ill call u back in 2 -3 months for another related charlity. They will try to run u as dry as possible, calling u for years, acting like u donated last year for THAT cause...even though your deseased spouse from 5 years ago that may have donated for another "scam" charity. It is mindboggling to me. But as they say, "There is a sucker born every day". God....how true is that!

Just got a call from this # for the Child's Wish foundation. She sounded like she was putting on a fake accent and i had to correct how she said my name. the call was lost. This is ridiculous.

Just got one of these calls from the 334-578-0114..girl said her name was Lisa Morgan, said she was with terminally ill children and wanted a donation..she told me she got my name from some company that I didn't know.  I told her I only gave to my church. I hung up.  I came to the computer to look up the number that was on my caller ID..it is listed in Montgomery, Al..called the number back and voice mail box was full.  Think this is another scam.  If she calls again will get more information to turn over to the State Attorney General's Office in Alabama and file a complaint.

Never donated anything and never will.

What prompted me to begin this online investigation this evening follows:  

Here's an additional ploy to their scam that I experienced this evening.  I answered the phone & heard a man ask for me by my first name who said he was calling to confirm that I had received the information packet they sent out when I spoke with Lisa on July 30th.  Just so happens, I was out of town for friend's wedding on July 30th, so that date immediately stood out in my mind.  So I told him that I had not spoken with anyone at all, much less a specific person named Lisa on that date and had no recollection whatsoever of having made any commitment to donate money because I never agree to such donations from random callers.  He continued to tell me that I had in fact spoken with Lisa on that date, to which I replied in the kindest terms that perhaps Lisa was falsifying her numbers.  He then asked if he could just send out another, of course I said, "No thanks."

I then awoke my husband and asked him about it and he recalled having answered the call on July 30th where a female from that group had asked to speak with me and he told her that we would not be interested in donating at this time.  

My conclusion then was that either 1) Lisa had in fact falsified her numbers for that day, since it was the end of the month (lol) or that 2) their ploy in this instance was to prey upon busy people to see if anyone might just believe that he/she had in fact made a verbal commitment to donate, because never once did he waver or express that perhaps Lisa had made an error.

I then found this page and read some of the posts here and went further and did a Google search for "Children's Charity Fund" "Alabama" and was intrigued by the fact that the call had come from a Montgomery number, yet the Google result showed an entity in Cullman.  I clicked that result and found the following description:  
        "We are a professional fundraising company contracted by charities to raise contributions over      
         the phone. We are looking for individuals who are competitive minded, money motivated, enjoy a
         sense of accomplishment at the end of the day and are capable of working Sunday-Friday from
         5pm-9pm (all days and hours).
         PC's Unlimited, Inc. • 1213 2nd Ave NW, Cullman, AL 35055 • 256-736-2507"

I called PC's Unlimited to inquire whether they were associated with a Children's Charity Fund that would have called from (334) 578-0114, a Montgomery number and was told that yes they were.  I quickly went through my experience and told her that I needed to know who, within PC's Unlimited I would need to speak to in order to report what I believed was an employee turning in false commitments (just something I threw out there to get information) and believe it or not, the person on the phone said, "Well, maybe, because we do get paid based on our sales."  I'm guessing she had never been trained as to how to field that sort of question, because I cannot imagine that the word "sales" would be approved by those who run the charity scam - because that shows it for what it really is.  She then went one to tell me to call back on Monday to speak with the manager, Rob Jackson.  I'm sure I'll be over my anger by Monday, but should I call him then, I will report here what the outcome of that call was.

Further research has found ties between PC's Unlimited, Inc.; Children's Charity Fund; and Shiloh International Ministries.  Interesting to me was that while PC's Unlimited was not listed at all on the Charity Navigator Website, both Children's Charity Fund and Shiloh International Ministries were listed among the TOP 10 INEFFICIENT FUNDRAISERS, with expenses (salaries) taking up approximately 85-86% of all monies raised.  Also of note, even though they are calling Alabama residents for donations and giving them the impression that donations benefit disabled children in Alabama, Children's Charity Fund isn't even authorized to exist in the State of Alabama, but is housed in Sarasota, Florida.

This is just particularly bothersome to me because I know that not everyone out there is even close to being as skeptical as I am and I don't want to see those folks get scammed.

Got a call from A Childs Wish. Pledged $20.00  When I received the pledge card I checked out the tax ID on Google and it was not active and the info gave the financial info which was pitiful, so I voided my check for $20.00 and posted this for others to read. A lot of these telemarketing donations are scams.
The tax ID that was on the pledge card was 06-1321377.  Google this number and read it for yourself.
I will not give to anymore phone solicitors unless I know where the money is going.

Same here.  After doing a little research, I found:

334-578-0114 seems to be linked to a company called Ymax Communications Corp.

Ymax Communications Corp seems to be linked to a product called Magic Jack (a way to make phone calls and not be charged for them)

My theory is they are connecting to our phone lines and making calls thru "our" phones.  

I plan to check my bill real closely next time.  FOR THE RECORD, I THINK ALL SCAMMERS SHOULD BE HUNG BY THE NECK UNTIL DEATH ON THE COURTHOUSE LAWNS FOR ALL TO SEE.

THERE ARE SEVERAL CHILDRENS CHARITYS THAT NAMES SOUND THE SAME OR TEND TO DO SIMILAR THINGS FOR THE CHILDREN. DONT CONFUSE THEM. I WORK FOR CHILDS WISH AND CHILDRENS CHARITY FUND.... AND  I CALL ALOT. WISH IS A NONPROFIT ORG,

YOU ARE A VERY SAD PERSON. I WORK FOR THE NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND ITS THE ONLY WAY OUR KIDS GET HELP. TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED.  UR RUDE. I HOPE UR CHILDREN STAY HEALTHY SO U NEVER HAVE TO HAVE HELP FROM US "SCAMMERS"
