Were on donot call list. These people still call we donot give to anyone over the phone. We only give to local organizations. Why would you call someone at 9pm on a week night for a donation? Makes you wonder.....

I WORK FOR FIREFIGHTERS BURN FUND. WE ARE LEGITIMATE TO MY KNOWLEDGE, HOWEVER ONLY 20% GOES TO THE CHILDREN BECAUSE WE ARE PAID EMPLOYEES. PLUS WE HAVE TO MAKE THE BROCHURES WE SEND OUT. AND PAY FOR MAILING COSTS. THEN THEIR IS RENT FOR THE OFFICE, UTILITY BILL, PLUS WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE NUMBERS WE CALL. IM SORRY THAT WE CALL SO LATE AT NIGHT. AND THAT SOMETIMES YOU ANSWER AND NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING THIS IS BECAUSE OF A DELAY IN THE PHONE SYSTEM. IM ALSO SORRY THAT SOME OF THESE EMPLOYEES ARE SOMETIMES RUDE. THE SMALLER CHARITIES LIKE THIS ONE HAVE TO USE TELEMARKETING, BECAUSE WE ARENT WELL KNOWN LIKE UNITED WAY. (CEO MADE $350,000 LAST YEAR BY THE WAY)  WE DONT ASK FOR ANY INFO WE DONT ALREADY HAVE WE MAY SAY WE DONT HAVE YOUR ADDRESS, THE REASON WE DO THIS IS TO SEE IF YOU REALLY WANT TO GIVE, OR YOU ARE JUST TRYIN TO GET US OFF THE PHONE. SO IN CONCLUSION GIVE OR DONT GIVE THIS IS UP TO YOU BUT I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CHECK OUT EVERY CHARITY AND NEVER GIVE YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD INFO TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE FOR ANY REASON!  AND PLEASE BE NICE TO THE PEOPLE CALLING YOU. WE ARE JUST LIKE YOU. WE HAVE TO WORK FOR A LIVING TOO . AND OUR JOB REALLY SUCKS! TELL US A JOKE OR SOMETHING! WE NEED A SMILE!

I am a caregiver for an elderly Mother.  I answered the phone and they asked for her by First Name. I told them that I was her daughter and she couldn't come to the phone and what message did I need to give her. They said they would call back. They didn't sound happy.  

Mother is on the No Calling List so I need to report these people to them.

Got a call from 334-578-0114 on 17Sep13 at 7:31 pm CST.  My wife pledged $20.00.  We got a pledge card in the mail with a website address of www.childs-wish.org on it.  There is no such website or address.  This is a SCAM with capital letters.  Check out the BBB website for this charity that is also known as Children's Charity fund.

Some friendly advice.  If you want to make a point about your charity, next time make sure the Caps Lock is not selected on your key board.  Screaming at people is the fastest way to shut them down,...or was that the point you were trying to make?

What percent of the money actually goes to the children? How does charity watch rate you charity?

Found out this number is for A Child's Wish Association of America that makes more profit, than spending on needs for a child wish!! Don't do it!

these same people are still in business!! SCAM do not give your money away!!! They called us on a Sunday night my husband answered they said Child wish he said he was busy, call later hung up, those crazy people called right back👹😡. I got a call and promised a pledge.  Sent my pledge but after talking to others will not do so again.  It is listed as one of the worst charities in the USA and has been banned from several states.

Now is asking money for State Troopers...Hangs up when I ask to have information mailed.

I just received a call from this number.  I didn't answer and decided to look it up online.  After reading the comments I'm certainly happy that I didn't.

Poarch Creek Indians out of Atmore Alabama and some Indian group out of Mississippi offering to pay me to vote "NO" on casino and lottery referendum. I told them that I don't really care either way, I don't gamble. I asked to be taken off their call list.

Did you know that all donations you give to St Jude they only get 1%? A child's wish gets %17 percent, the call center gets 83% all employees make minimum wage 7.25 in my county and state. There is approximately 10- 15 people in this one room building they have to pay for the power, the employee, the rent, the phones, and water. Honestly it's hard to get donations without someone who doesn't have good salesmanship skills. So I think it's worth it. I donate the gold package every year. They also do everything by mail where you send back with your check or money order out to a child's wish association and send you information on what you're donating too and its tax deductible.

I buy the gold package every year, they do everything in the mail. The check is even in the organizations name. They are not scammers but maybe had you given the person 3 mins to say what they had to say you would have known that.

Even if you're on the no call list they can call you, you see if you fill out a public raffle or when you sign up for certain credit cards you mark where they say can other charitable associates contact me. You literally have to unmark it before you complete it. That's the only way they get it. It's apart of the public information act.

The laws state that all charitable donation call centers can call from 12- 9pm any day. It takes time to leave a message expecially when you go through almost 400 unanswered calls in a night you move on. If not you wouldn't have time to talk to people who actually make a difference.

I donate to A Child's wish here in Alabama every year. My grandson who had struggled through terminal cancer was chosen by this organization. They took him, his sisters, and mom to Disney World.They paid for everything even hired two male nurses to help him get around the park comfortably! He talked about it for months afterwards. The cancer took over his whole body within 6 months. It was nice to see him happy, out of the hospital and just living even if it was only a week. It hurts me to see all these people saying they just hung up or even after they pledged they didn't donate. This is a very real charity that has touched my heart and my life In so many ways. How heartless some people are just makes me see that they would rather assume it's some kind of scam than see the stories like ours on the website. You shouldn't assume cause now because of the numerous assumptions on this site people have read and then made more assumptions a child won't get the same joy my grandson was lucky enough to experience in his last year. To those that have donated thank you so much, may the lord bless you in every way, every day! It's people like you who made Ronnie's dream a reality. I just can't thank you enough!!
