- AlmostI recieved a call from this number asking me for my donation promised last April. The lady on the other end said she resent the information and asked me to make my donation ASAP. I had just written the check and put it in the envelope and decided to look up the charity. Thank God I came across this site. I quickly tore up the check and threw it away. I can't wait for her to call back asking for my donation again. Maybe then I'll get taken off the police, fire, veterans calls as well.

- JCThey just called @ 8:35. I jumped up to get the phone. They asked for my wife, when I asked who they were, they just hung up. I called them back, but the recorded msg said they couldn't accept incoming calls and their voice mail was full. This is not a legit company at all. If it was, they'd have a WORKING INCOMING NUMBER, and instruct their little toothless trolls to be POLITE to the people they're trying to SHAKE DOWN.
They'll get theirs, no doubt, each and every little miserable one of them.- Caller: Unknown
- cease callingI have received calls in 2009 and 2110 asking for pledges for a FireFightersBurn Fund with Po Box 11606, Birmingham, Al.
I can not find this firm listed in Birmingham Al nor with the Better Business Bureau.
The phone number is Montgomery, Al: 334-578-0114. I believe this to be a scam and will not be sending money,.- Caller: FireFightersBurn Fund

- MaryGot a call last night from 1-334-578-0114 she ask for my husband by name and I said this is his wife may I help you and she hung up. Tryed to call her back and it said that the person was unable to take my call and her mail box was full.
- Arab replies to SHELL| 1 replyIf you truly are a REAL charity why are you calling my house at 8:45 p.m. on a Wednesday night and you don't even bother to leave a message on the answering machine. In addition, why to you talk in all capital letters and can't even use proper English. Seems like a scam to me.
- Anony replies to GBOY| 1 replyNo clue who that just was but, in her spiel, she used "Last Wish" and "Child's Charity Fund". Using 2 different org names and one is similar to the well known 'Make a Wish' foundation makes me suspicious. No ID on caller iD makes me suspicious. So 3 nay votes, you're out!
As to the person fussing about an org being tagged as suspicious when they only turn 17% of donations to the people in need, that says 83% is going somewhere not intended so it looks highly suspicious. - Anony replies to SHELLCan you answer/explain this: http://www.sos.wa.gov/print.aspx?url=http://w ... ?charity_id=831 You say Alabama, this says Florida. This says only 11% goes to people in need. Who gets the other 89% percent?
- Ben replies to SHELLI never give to callers and please type out your sentences and don't use text type.
- freedove replies to GBOYThen they should properly introduce themselves and politely explain all of the facts, to include percentages and exactly where people's donations are going, you have the right to know that. And Do Not hang up when you are asked a legitimate question.
- gulfcoastkidGot a call from this number, no voice mail message was left. when I called back from the caller ID (only gave number and Montgomery Al.) was told the Magic Jack customer couldn't take call and leave message. This is NOT going to happen!!!
- Huntsville, AL Resident13-Oct-2011 @ 6:40 PM. Received a call from this number. I answered, "Hello?" Nothing. Not even heavy breathing. I said, "Hello?" a 2nd time, and still nothing. A few seconds later, the caller hung up. I received a very similar call from another number about 2 or 3 nights ago. It's very strange that they call and then just hang up.

- KimWSSmiththose scammers ring the phone at all times of the day and as late as 11:00PM. Most of the time we just let it ring until they stop.
I picked up the phone 3 times and whoever the scammer is hangs up when I speak. I have a clear authoritative sounding voice. I presume they are looking for weaker sounding sheep to fleece.
There is a stunt you can use to frustrate them if you're in a playful mood and have about an hour to spend on speed dial: give them as many hang-up calls as you can for whatever time you feel like spending while screwing around with those freaks. My record is 230 hang up calls in one hour of play. I used that tactic on a computerized system that never connects you to a living person. On one occasion when I was on my 300th such call to one of those organizations: a real live person actually answered!
When they call you: the call is free. When you call them and they answer; they pay, on average $1. That's $1 times 300 calls. See where this is going?- Caller: unknown
- A.Nony-MousRecv'd a call from 334-578-0114; when I answered, there was no response, just silence.

- Larrr replies to lindylou| 1 replyYes why dont you get on the National Do not call list like i did then you can report the number an they will check it out for you an stop the calls.
- M3 replies to SHELLIf you truly work for a reputable organization, you follow rules and regulations. You identify yourself IMMEDIATELY and state your purpose. Your organization removes me from their list if I ask. You do not curse me when I ask to be removed. You call within the lawful times for true charitable organizations to call. I think it's you who is the sad person, for not realizing that there are more than enough scams out there that people are foolish not to question telemarketers and the organizations they represent. Oh, and if you're going to positively represent your non-profit, you should learn proper internet etiquette, and how to spell. "UR" and "U"is not a word.
- Smiths ResidentI have received several phone calls from 334 578-0114 asking for a donation to "A Child's Wish Association of America". Information came through the mail and I was in the process of writing a check when I had a strong hunch to check the internet to see if they were legitimate. I'm so glad I did. Thanks to each of you for sharing your experiences.

- gamma gammaI got the call and asked for more info and they sent me the letter when I agreed to give $20.
However one quick visit to http://www.charitynavigator.org and I changed my mind. On that site just by coincidence I just happened to see a list of "Charities Performing Similar Types of Work" and I saw my college frat's PUSH America charity on there. When I compared our "score" with Childrens Wish I knew they would never get a penny from me. In fact if they call again they will get a rude welcome.
If you want to give money to a charity that is a great thing. Do your research first.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Bibbs GamberI am concerned that company is a fraud. Does anyone know the ceo of the company?
