I too received a call on December 28 at 10:30 pm.  Same spanish recording and this is the 2nd time this has happened to me ... any one know what is going on with this number?

J'ai reçu un appel du 401-889-9876 à 22h.  Je n'ai pas eu le temps de répondre.  Pas de message.  C'est la deuxième fois que je vois ce numéro de téléphone sur mon cell.  La dernière fois il y avait un message en espagnol.  Je suis avec Telus.

just received the same call from this number 5 minutes 10.49 pm EST and using Fido in Toronto.. speaking spanish I think, I answered but it ended soon after the recording finished. what is going on with this?

J'ai aussi reçu deux appels de ce numéro ! le premier, auquel j'ai répondu  me parlait en espagnol seulement. J'ai vite raccroché ! le deuxième à 22h30 le 28 décembre auquel je n'ai pas répondu ! je vais appeler ma compagnie tout de suite pour leur faire part de ces appels dérangeants !

I am with Rogers in Ontario and received a phone call from this number at 7:34pm on December 28th. Spanish recording as well.

I live in Quebec, received a phone call from the same number around 7:11 p.m. 401 area code is Rhodes Island.  889-9876, this is a spammer.

Yeah the same number called my cell a few hours ago
it was some spanish chick speaking

live in ontario and missed the call. no message but weird.call came in at 9:27 dec 28 o7. Don't call back. too many #@&^% up people out there.

Got the same phone call on Dec. 28 , 2007. I answered nobody was talking I hung up...But then I called back an a recording was saying that the number i was trying to reach was disconnected. I'm in Montreal and my provider is telus. Do you know if it does anything special if you call back?

I would strongly suggest you not to answer the call... some "Cell phoen Hackers" are using this type of "CALL" whenever they want to access your "ON AIR" protocol... Yes of course Telus / Rogers and any other Cell company will nedy the fact that they were "hacked" but this is what I heard from the states where many people have encountered the same problem...  That,s why you get a "THE IS NO SERVICE"... since it is a SHORT range wave use by the hackers...

Be careful and check your Cell phone BILL...

BTW: Never answer "YES"... since the spanish message MIGHT be asking "TDo you accept the charges"...  Hum... nice catch!

I got that call too last night. It was in spanish but i didn't understand what they said. My cell provider is Fido. I won't answer next time

Last call I received from this number was December 29th, 07 @ 10:54pm. This has been about the third call that I've received. I haven't answered the first two and I've hung up immediately on this call once I heard the spanish recording.

Sounds like a phone hacking scam.

J'ai reçu cet appel sur mon téléphone cellulaire (FIDO)le vendredi 28 décembre 2007 à 23:05. Je n'ai pas répondu et aucun message sur ma boîte vocale. J'ai aissi reçu le 20 décembre 2007 à 19:41 un autre appel avec le numéro 502-510-9898. Je n'ai pas répondu et aucun message.

I speak spanish and I also receive a phone call from this number sayin i win 4 tickets or 5 to disney land...

i recibed one call in december 28 from this number(401)889 98 76 ...what happend? and what we can don about this ? im sorprised how many people we are and then after that call my cell doesnt have signal. and i have to repar it
