- KarenHey everyone...now the number has changed, the Inspector has changed but the scam is the same, I got a phone call from an Inspector Crutchfield last week who threatened me with a warrant and jail. He gave me his cell phone number which is 678-279-5840. I called him back because I work for the court systems in Broward/Dade Florida and this just wasn't making any sense. Plus if I were personally arrested I would lose my job. Same story, I would be arrested for check fraud. He couldn't tell me the original amount of the "so-called loan" but said I now owed, with court costs, fines and fees a whopping total of $1,375.00 payable in two installments. Needless to say I was upset for days when my daughter found this site. The "inspector" told me the company was "Quickie Cash Dollars" of which I'd never heard of. This so called loan was done in 2008, a year I had to file identify theft. And after his call, I now have two other emails stating I owe these guys money and if I settle the debt...watch out folks. Call you local law enforcement office for economic crime and let them know you are being harrassed.

- Ms. Upset replies to Chinai received a call from a Mr. Lee at my job and he threatened our receptionist about if I worked here and she needed to give him the information he needed because he had a warrant for my arrest and that I had written a check for a payday loan 2 yrs ago and that he was gonna issue a warrant for my arrest. The receptionist would give out no information, instead she took his number and I called a Mr. lee back and I told him I have not written any checks to this company, he kept on with his threats and I told him that i deal with the Court system everyday and he needed to do what he has to do. He states that i needed to make a payment so they could stop the warrant and I told him that I would not give him my debit card number because I do not know who he is. So I hung up and I guess I will be getting a call today or even maybe be picked up today (Whatever).
- sashaI got a vm yesterday from their toll free number to call them in the next 24 hours. So I did just to see what this call was all about, out of curiosity. So I get a Mr. Love who tells me that they are collecting on a bad check for just over $1000. They had my name, address and ss#, but could not or would not tell me what the debt was for. They were trying to get me to admit to the debt, of course I would not, I kept them on the line asking them tons of questions, and was transferred several times. I asked them to provide me with written documentation of this debt, they wanted to fax or email, I said "no, I need you to mail me a debt verification letter with the following information......". I was aware of the company that they said they were collecting for and I have mailed that company a debt verification letter with no response. In addition, I notifed this MR. Love that there were other collection agencies just like DKA that were trying to collect on the debt as well and that was a violation of the law. Finally he transferred me to some lady who tried to over power me, got frustrated with me and gave me back to Mr. Love! It was funny! Anyway, I finally learned that this was some sort of on line loan directly deposited into a bank account with my name attached to it, they did give me the bank account number...which is not nor was ever mine. I asked them to supply me with proof that I took out this loan, supply me with a signed contract, IP address, along with their license number to legally collect in my state. Finally, Mr. Love gave into me and said he will send me something but it will take 2 weeks and he "hopes that the case will still be with him and not in the courts where I live". I do have to say, no one threatened me with an arrest, but did lie and tell me it was a bad check.

- better late than never! replies to alfafa haterGenerally if one writes a bad check it is taken up with the District Attorney's Fraud Check Department, not so called investigators from unlicensed to practice in various states collection agencies. And its illegal to threaten arrest, jail time or prison for a defaulted payday loan as this is not a fraudulent check or bad check. It is just a defaulted payday loan, just like one defaults on a mortgage, car loan, credit card etc. So instead of taking a hard line, manipulative, threatening, overpowering, and intimidation tactic to collect, perhaps these horrible collection agencies should try taking a more promatic tactic to create a win win situation that works within the consumers financial situation. Generally those who work in the debt collection field are those who want control and power, those who think they have something to prove, those who take pride in making a painful situation even more painful regardless if the debt is true or not for that person. Working with consumers to create a win win situation is by far a more human, ethical and moral practice opposed to the way most companies like DKA practice. There is no integrety and its a shame. Consumers situations and circumstances change all the time, and they may not be able to pay their debt regardless of taking responsibility or not. Perhaps they tried with the original lender but was denied, Payday loans do that all the time, they are horrible and swindlers, they really should not be allowed. They allow consumers to fall into the trap deeper and deeper, unable to get out then get caught, and forced to deal with companies like DKA.
- Hey Collector of 20 years... replies to U.S.A Collector for 20 yearsThank you for the straight talk, I appreciate what you have offered us! Question....So what if that payday loan or debt is not yours and you have sent out debt verification letters to the creditors on your credit report with no response, have submitted disputes to the credit bureaus all to no avail? Then what, what is a consumer to do when they are being told they are responsible for a debt that a collection agency is trying to collect but all that is provided is basically personal information but no actual proof of debt like a signed contract or other form of proof? And why would a payday loan company not work out a reasonable repayment plan to someone who has perhaps lost their job or decrease in income/hours, who is willing to pay lets say $50 per month, take one to small claims court for a judgment, where the judge asks "how much can you pay?", "I offered to pay them $50 per month but they refused and chose to file this judgement", then the judge orders the $50 payments! How silly is that! Now that person has a judgement on their credit files when it never had to happen...here is clearly a problem with the system and a collector showing power and control, and ruining a persons credit for 7 years! (I sat in on a small claims court once and this was an actual case).
- Marlene replies to ccjjAgree, no pay day loans. Regardless these people shouldn't treat anyone like this..Will file a complaint.
- anonymous 4444 replies to anonymous 1104I am in the same situation as of right now... i am almost wondering if this is ligit company. i was told that my husband owed 900 dollars so we set up a payment plan and this was back in July.2010 and now it is oct.2010. my final agreement was to pay 175.00 and my payments would be done. so i had paid the 175.00 and the next day they took another 100.00... I have tryed to call this company about getting my 100 back and they have gave me the run around. putting me on hold for 40 mins and then hanging the phone up on me. i have call and left messages after messages to this company because thats all i get when i try to contact them. this is bull and i need to find a way to get my 100 back how can i go about this?
- nco replies to U.S.A Collector for 20 years| 1 replyUSA collector for 20 years...i know I'm late in responding to you but you forgot one thing...there is 15 states where a pay day loan is illegal....so what that means if you live in one of these states all you have to pay back is the original amount you borrowed you don't have to pay for any processing fees or any INTEREST.. if you already paid the processing fees and interest just deducted from the original amount and then pay the rest..now if the debt collector ask you..if you knew it was illegal for a payday loan in your state,so why did you borrow the monies...you say i didn't know it was illegal until yesterday.
they will still try to use scare tactics on you and when they realize that the scare tactics wont work then they will accept the original balance you owe because they know the law is on your side 100% - lamet replies to ncoMake that 16 States - Arizona was added to the list of states where Payday loans are BANNED as of July 1, 2010
In SOME CASES there are limits on what is collectable and in some CASES nothing is collectable,
BUT you have to contact your own state attorney general as to how these are handled in YOUR State if you live in one of these 16 States
High cost payday loans are illegal in 16 states. As of the end of 2008, the following states outlaw these very expensive loans:
Arizona (as of July 1, 2010)
Arkansas
Connecticut
Georgia
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Vermont
West Virginia
Payday loans are also illegal in the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
In addition, Congress banned payday lending to service members and their families. - LAMET replies to alfafa haterWhy is it everytime we POST the laws you are BREAKING to ILLEGALLY collect NON-EXISTENT debt - you BOTTOMFEEDERS always claim people are not being responisible?
THIS IS NOT ABOUT COLLECTING LEGITIMATE VALID DEBT - this is about Debt collectors who VIOLATE State and Federal Debt Collection laws to EXTORT MONEY from innocent consumers. - cece replies to Mariamost ppl that had dealth with these ppl had a check fraud when there is no such thing...
- CECE replies to PDTTHEY DID THE SAME THING TO ME CALLING MY MOM, THEY ARE SCAM!!! OR SHOULD I SAY SCUM...
- CECE replies to anonymous 1104REQUEST PAPER WORK, FROM THEIR SO CALLED LAWYERS AND INFORMATION ABOUT THEM AND SEE WHAT YOU GET... I RECEIVE A 3 LINE LETTER FROM SOMEONE WITH THE ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER... I RECENTLY RESEARCH THEM ON THE INTERNET AND EVERYONE HAS THE SAME STORIES.
- BellaI was worrying myself about how I was going to pay off these debts after getting harassing phone calls...and I just found out after calling The Attorney Generals office / Dept. of Justice that because I live in North Carolina where these payday loans are illegal that they can't take me to court and I don't have to pay. So if you live in a state where they are illegal don't worry!!!

- Joe| 1 replyRick Rivera, associates himself with Delanor Kemper & Associates. Advised if contact was not made to him within a specific amount of time the sherrifs department will serve me with documents. This is concerning a small debt owed to a payday loan.He has called my place of employment several times and was unwilling to work with me when I made clear that I couldn't not pay the total amount owed or half at his request. I requested to make four payments with proper documentation confirming I'm paying a legitimate source; in response I was yelled at and the call was disconnected by Mr.Rivera. Though I need to pay this debt I do not feel it's okay to submnit a over the phone payment without legitamte documentation. I do not appreciate being threatened with law suits and jail time.

- PayYourDebt| 3 repliesI got the same call, because of debts that I DID NOT pay, that were obviously turned over to a collection agency. It sucks but at the same time, it is my own fault for not paying my bills. You can't rack up debt and expect to get away with it people. How immature. Don't take money you know you can't afford. Own up to it and quit whining.

- . replies to PayYourDebt| 2 repliesComplaints of abusive collection, threats, and deceptive collection are consistent with faking alleged "debts". Debt collectors fraudulently collecting on faked "debt" often make shill posts in an attempt to panic consumers who might search for information on them. Those shills attempt to portray the debt collector, its illegal practices, and the alleged "debts" as legitimate, as well as play up the "costs" of not paying these unrecognized and unproven "debts".
- Concerned Citizen replies to .| 1 replyCome one, These are not fake debts. leas can anyone tell me how the agency gets you SSN, Address, references, spouse information. Tere is no way this information can be obtained unless, now say it with me, YOU TOOK OUT THE LOAN. Now please pay your bills and stop looking for ways to get out of it. The economy will be better off if you deadbeats start being responsible.
