- Roger PyleA call from the scam company offering vacations, Disney world. I'm on the sex offender list so I cannot go there.Bummer
- Patti replies to Judy| 1 replyWhatever you do, don't answer or call the number back if you don't know who it is. If it's important, they will leave a message. If you answer or call back, they will use your cell to make calls all over the world and you can be charged for this. It can amount to a lot of money in charges. It has been on the news too.
- CACalled my cell phone, didn't leave a message.

- JimH| 2 repliesFraudulent travel agency telemarketer, using a phony computer-generated robo-calling device/tie-line from a devil worshipping call center. I put them in the usual category of low-life criminal animals and devil worshippers, as they don't even have the human being courtesy to leave a message. A pox on them. It is suspected they also use other (407) numbers, which come out as non-working or out of service as well. Florida seems to be a breeding ground for vacation scams (which require you to pay a fee up front, over the phone, for something that will not be fulfilled) and credit card interest rate lowering scams (more up front fees and outright d=frauds). If enough complaints are made to the FTC, they might finally do something about shutting down these criminal activities, which use an ever-changing menu of numbers and scams, along with shutting down the companies that issue them the numbers they use for VoIP, tie-lines, etc., etc. More rude foreigners that can't speak understandable English, that think we are stupid enough to give them personal data, SSNs, credit card numbers, etc. so they can steal everything. There must be over two dozen numbers from (407) area codes that are just tied into vacation scams, but are really tie-lines, VoIP, spoofed computer-generated numbers, or from cell phone number blocks that are actually tie-lines. More calls grouped into the totality of nuisance, fraud, scam calls, etc..
Unfortunately, as this is a major election year for Congress, local dog catchers, sheriffs, etc., we can expect an increasing number of these types of fraudulent calls to annoy us. It is also an opportunity to vote out of office all of the firebreathers, tea partyers and other wackos who shut down the Government last year for 16 days, who still oppose Obamacare (despite the fact that millions of their constituents have been able to sign up for affordable health care), and who embarrass the U.S. with their dumb behavior. Do not donate anything over the phone to anyone, period; an open invitation to fraud and the countless bandits who will simply pocket your "donations." IF YOU ARE IN A POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY OR ARE AN ELECTED OFFICIAL, BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM, AND CULTURE TEAMWORK AT ALL TIMES!
It is assumed that all improperly or incompletely identified numbers are from the increasing number of scams, frauds, tie-lines, etc. This is why everyone must also contact their elected reps in DC to demand that they significantly strengthen the DNC laws, providing extremely severe dollar and prison sentences for violators, and give more strength to the FTC. This is an opportunity for Congress to actually do something useful for the country, not just pass gas and throw spitballs at each other. Any business must be properly identified with their legal name on Caller Id, not hide behind Not Available, Private, Unavailable, etc. It is time to ban any kind of solicitation call, whether telemarketer, charitable, political, survey, opinion poll or whatever, plus outlaw any use of tie lines, robo-callers, VoIP, or use of numbers not issued by a legitimate, FCC licensed common carrier (telephone company). You can be assured that funds donated or authorized over the phone will mostly go into the pockets of the organizers, not to the charity or political campaign, or intended purpose, along with a $10 donation showing up as $100s in charges. Never give a credit card number or any personal data to anyone over the phone. There must be a new scam and fraud being generated every second out there. We need call control, not gun control!- Caller: Vacation Scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Mr. K replies to Judy| 24 repliesI beg to differ. When a company is allowed to have (literally) 69,000 phone numbers, and Verizon, et. al. refuse to provide viable blocking options, they ARE a willing participant. These scammer/parasites/predators are siphoning off millions, if not billions of dollars from the healthy host. (The hard working americans that are on here today wondering who is bothering them).
- jc replies to DavidDavid, although I'm not picking at anyone, I thought you might like to know that the DNC Registry does not deal with scammers or any other similar law breakers. The DNC only deals with FTC Registered Telemarketers who are required to purchases the DNC list monthly. These companies are legitimate Telemarketers (Telephone sales of goods or services) and must comply because they have physical locations, addresses, locally listed telephone numbers, and must observe certain proprieties in order to be registered with the FTC. If the violate, they are easily found by the FTC by simply pulling their files or opening a phone book. If complaints start coming in, they are fined 16K per violation. There are other agencies to deal with criminals such as the scammers, frauds, and other lawbreakers.
- anon replies to KevinSorry, DNC don't apply.
