I literally received this email verbatim from an Angela Gibson about a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I became leary when gift card was the method of payment. I seriously thought I was about to experience a miracle. This person needs to be prosecuted!

The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee is still available. It is in a good condition, no scratches, no damages, never been involved in any kind of accidents. It has a 5.7L 8 cylinder engine (great on gas), automatic transmission & only 60,714 miles. ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES at all and I have the clean title in hand. I'm selling it at this final price $1,600 because my husband passed away 2 months ago (he had a heart attack) and brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it asap. I also got a new job, moved back to my hometown, and many other things have priority now, so, this SUV has to go. If you are interested in buying my SUV, feel free to email me

Similar experience. Angela Gibson trying to sell me 2007 Volkswagon Beetle for 1500$. All the directions via email, asking for payments through giftcards within 24 hours. They never shared with me VIN number nor Carfax report.
    Apply caution and stay safe.

"Silvia" has given 2 major red flags - death in family & military deployment.  Another poster mentioned gift cards - another  MAJOR red flag since they are untraceable.

The way Morgan Mcculley phrased his post, it does not appear that he was scammed, however the previous poster admitted to being scammed through gift cards (maybe you meant to reply to them.).
If you sent this scammer money using gift cards (or the numbers from the backs of them), then the answer to your question is a resounding NO, you are not going to get your money back, since money transferred using gift cards is untraceable.
You could file a police report, and in the unlikely chance that this scammer is located in the US (they are more than likely overseas and may not even be female) and the authorities track down and arrest them, then there is a very faint chance that you might get some or all of your money back.  But, it is more likely that your money is gone and you have just learned an expensive life lesson.

The red flags indicating that this is a scammer: "dead husband" (sob story - they often pretend to be recent widows), "leaving on military duty" (an excuse to avoid a face-to-face meetup, because they're actually in another country).
Remember, only scammers want you to pay by buying gift cards - because, as the others in this thread mentioned, they are untraceable (and can't be charged back like credit cards).

Well it looks like the name has now changed. They now go buy Katherine Lyons of Billings MT. Just tried to sell me a 1999 Chevy Tahoe for $1000. Wanted to do everything through email and tried to get me with the ebay scam. I called the number and flat out told them ita a scam and im not down. Wanting the purchase to be done in cash cards. It seemed to good to be true and after doing my research it was.
