- DibooI asked what bank they were calling from and the representative hung up.
- MichaelThese people are claiming to lower your credit card interest rate. They use the name Credit Card Services which is similar sounding to Fidelity Card Services. I lead them along, wasting their time. I tell them I have over 85K in credit card debt. Making them salivate for the commission then telling them that they should become crack [***] and I am sure that their parents are proud of them, they abruptly hang up as I laugh.
- Caller: Credit Card Services
- Call type: Telemarketer
- KellyIt must be a scam ... I picked up and got a recorded message about my credit card (of course they didn't say which one) and lowering the interest rate. The recording said to press "1" to talk to someone. Of course, I wasn't going to do that! I've heard this same scam from different phone numbers before ... thank goodness for this website!! :)
(This is my cell phone and I pay for the minutes, so this really irks me!) - 425-390-8192i just got a call from them, and i knew it was shady but pressed 1 anyway to ask to have my number removed.
i asked, what card is this for? and she hung up.
SUPER SHADY.
its hard to believe that anyone would fall for this, but some people must be or else they wouldn't be making these calls.
i'd love to meet the scumbag who is running this operation. he must be a real piece of sh*t. - D.Sternreceived unknown calls from this no. and 416-832-7596
- Anonym replies to DLPhone companies sell lists of cell phone numbers. All the big ones do at least (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile). They sell lists of them to affiliates and other people who want to telemarket, most telemarketers obey the Do Not Call Registry, but these guys have the ability to "spoof" their number which means they can make their caller I.D. appear as whatever they want. They've called me over the past few months from about 11 different phone numbers and 4 different area codes, and other people online have stated these guys have called them from at least over 50+ other numbers/ area codes.
These guys suck.
Add their number to your contact list and set them to ignore/ no vibrate/ no notifier. Then you don't notice them call until you look at your phone, at which point you click through your missed calls. - It's the best thing I've figured to deal with them, nothing else works really. - Anonym replies to debThey'll just spoof their caller I.D. to a different number that is pretty much the same with just 2 digits missing, and then call you from that number. If they think that one is blocked too they'll call you from another number... and another.... and another.....
I've been dealing with these low-lifes for a number of months now, unfortunately.
I made a reply about 10 posts above this with the best thing to do to make the annoyance caused by these fools as least annoying as it can get. - AlmostI can't believe I almost did this, super aggresive, BOILER ROOM style sales call. Gave some info and changed a digit here and there, once he said what I qualified for he asked for a $995 payment on DIFFERENT card than the one I was being worked on to lower the APR. Glad I wised up and said hey, this just isn't going to happen. The Rep was extremley frustrated when haning up....GOOD!

- Why are they allowed to do thisHow can a company call a number that is registered on a do not call registry and keep getting away with it? What I have found is that the same company calls from different phone numbers. Can anyone feel good about running a business like this?
- Caller: lower credit card rates
- RussMissed a call - Called back and was able to press 1 and get off their list . . .
- Caller: ???
- BelindaI answered and no one answered
- B. GuintherSame as all the rest. I don't answer unknown numbers. The caller did not leave a message nor was I able to call them back. What a waste of time and cell phone minutes.
- Freddy kSince I don't ever answer calls (on my cell phone) from people I don't know, the easiest way to not be bothered by machines that don't leave messages is to go into your phone settings, security, restrictions, calls, incoming calls, then switch the setting to "contacts only". This does exactly what is says- your phone will only ring for calls from people on you contacts list. NOTE - People who are not in your contacts can still leave messages on your voice mail with this setting so friends or family who are not programmed into your phone can still leave you a message. ALSO - If you want to add a contact to your list or edit a contact you must set your phone back to "allow all calls" while you are editing, then set it back. Still it's way better than having these robots calling you from different numbers all the time.
- Caller: unknown
- JD KolocRejected it...
- GeneSame thing as everybody else. When I picked up the phone (after 2-3 rings) they hung up.
- PeterI have been getting this call and everytime my answering comes on they hang up. Great way of getting of scam artsits
- Call type: Telemarketer
- robert s.Same B.S. here as well. Wish I could block. Might save in my contacts as 'Do Not Answer'
- GuessYep, same here. Started getting lots of out of state phone calls as well.
Some changes I've made: signed up with BofA for a credit card, bought a home
If anyone else has a BofA credit card (serviced through FIA services) maybe we can find a link. If it's just because I bought a home, not much I can do since my number's out there now.- Caller: don't know, didn't answer
- TexasBJust about stopped all these calls.....answer with a bloody murder scream directly into the phone. Did not have any for about three weeks on home or cell. Yesterday started again....will use same solution. Let's all try it.....need to out smart these trouble makers.
- dmI never give out my cell phone but somehow this company got my number. They said they are "Card Services" and want to know if I want to take part in their promotion to lower my rate. I don't have any credit cards so stop calling.
I called back and pressed 1 to be removed, we'll see if it works.- Caller: Card Services
