This guy called with the same story has the rest claiming to be a technical expert wanting to know what I say after I click on the computer button.  I to him to tell me if he was the expert.  After a bit of questioning he got rude. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he said he didn't have one. The told me if I didn't want his help I should jusr hang up.  Then explained to me that I didn't do what he wanted he would have the cops hack my computer. Then he hung up. How is this not a crime?

I am a receptionist at an accounting firm and a guy speaking perfect English asked for one of our partners, but hacked the pronunciation of his last name. We get a lot of unwanted sales calls so I told him the partner was on another call. The guy asked for another partner. I heard a lot of chatter in the background like from a call center, so I told him if he was making a sales call he would have to leave a message and we would get back to him if we were interested. He then hung up on me. Caller ID said CNS MRK RC like in one of the postings above.

I received a like phone call on  7/10/12...
My daughter answered the phone and was given the same speil as the rest of you.
She asked his name and he told her it was "Jack", he worked for "Technical Maintenance Dept Windows". She told "Jack" (his accent was unmistakably Indian-like) we'd have to call him back. This is the number he gave her: 1(289)802-0216; Thank goodness for caller I.D.!  The number he'd called from is in Kirkland, WA.
It is a "land line" for "CNS MRK RC". I've been tempted to call the "correct" phone number to find out just what is going on, aside from trying to bilk people out of their hard earned funds.
Has any one tried calling (425)406-9022?
Elderly persons, who may have little or no computer experience, make easy targets for these sort of scams. Bravo to those who were able to intervene on their behalves!

Just called my cell phone and gave me the same scenario as the rest of you....Then when I told him that we did not own a computer he got nasty. I told him that if I did have a computer, that windows would not call me and say they were receiving error messages. It would me having to call an automated machine to find out what was going on. He told me that I had a computer and it was registered under my husbands name......that is when I broke out laughing. My husband doesn't even know how to turn one on..Geesh terrible scamers. Foreign voiced nasty little man......shame on you!

My experience was similar to the ones above. A woman who sounded Indian, calling from "Windows", told me that they had reports of problems with my windows and they would help me fix the problems. I could barely understand her, asked for the supervisor, he told me he was calling from Windows. I told him that there wasn't a company named Windows. He said, "No, windows is an operating system." I asked, "Which of my computers is reporting the problem?" It was all very absurd...

OK, now this is getting weird.  I got a call from this number, and from 971-217-9508, both of which are getting reputations on 800notes as the same computer hacking scam.  I got a call from a Tony Ortiz with a Brooklyn accent, who is trying to "sell" my timeshare to his company for full price.  Well over $15,000 he says at current market value, when the same thing can be bought on ebay all day long for around $1000.  He claims to be with "Urban Eden Properties" in St. Petersburg, Fl.

Dont fall for this!!  It is a scam to get personal information!!  I just got another call from them, but they called me almost a year ago and I finally hung up and called an IT company to check it out.  They said it was a total scam.  They can get your personal info and destroy your computer.

I just recieved a call from this number (425) 406-9022. He was not of american desent, more middle eastern. He asked me if I was the owner of this number, and I ask "why", who are you? He told me he was from the Federal Grant Program and I was awarded money. I told him point blank that he is not from the Federal Grant Program. Then I asked him what the name of the Grant Program was, and he said, "you know, like the Federal Grant Program". I instructed him that he had better not ever call this number again, and that I would be reporting his number and his scam to authorities. I told him he had better take my number off his scammers list. Then he hung up!
