Person with an accent of India called last night with a caller ID of CNS MRK RC. Told me he was with Microsoft and that my computer had viruses which would cause it to crash unless I got help from him. He directed me to go to my computer (I did not).  Immediately told him to remove my name and phone # from the call list.  He immediately hung up without saying anything. This is a SCAM!!!!

Didn't answer tonight's call, possibly the 35th or so over the past four or five weeks. Whatever happened to the Do Not Call Registry?

I alway have fun with these guys. (the ones who say they are from microsoft) One time I pretended to go along with them indicating I was doing everything they told me (when I wasn't even in the same room as my computer) and then I told them the computer crashed and started to cry. The guy hung up. Another time I told them my husband and I had a fight and he left with the computer. I already have my next senerio ready.

This number just called me with the same as above face book scam so I mind F- him for 10 mins. At the end of it I told him that my computer was protected by  ROPS ware inc. Virus protection and a angry Gandolf and that viruses "can not pass" I don't think he could keep up with that so I think I made him break the phone. If we cant get them to stop make it so they call less people in the day, and maybe it will take to much money to run the scam.

Well, seems like your not safe from these "scammers" regardless of Country or location. Probably would have understood it was bull though...

Guy with an Indian accent said he was calling from Windows tech support (or something like that). This is the second time I've had this type of scam call this week. Last time the number was 971-217-9518 and the caller ID said Top Googlepages. This time the caller ID says CNS MRK RC.  I tried to mess with him a little, but I think they're on to us! He told me God bless and have a nice day :)

This male with an Indian sounding accent called me from this number and asked for me by name. After I acknowledged that it was my name, he proceeded to tell me that my "Windows PC" was sending out errors when it went online. Then he asked me if I went online with my PC and if I was the main user of my PC (um...I have 5 PC's in my house). I told him that yes, I was the main user and yes, I went online with my PC, but that my PC ran Linux. He then confirmed that I said "Linux" and promptly told me that my problem was out of his hands. I told him that he didn't work for Microsoft and that I hope he gets busted before I hung up on him.

Now here's the strange part: I recently bought a downloadable version of Windows 7 Professional via the Microsoft store and this guy KNEW my name and my number. I remember getting a similar call around the same time I bought a version of Windows Professional for my entertainment PC. While I cannot say that somebody high up in Microsoft cleared these people to get this information, I am starting to wonder if someone down in the trenches isn't selling it. Possibly somebody working for the delivery company, Digital River.

REMEMBER: THIS IS A SCAM!! THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HELP YOU!!

The caller ID for this number now says "not in service".  I received a call from this number this morning, with no response to my "hello".  I have also received calls from a New York number, stating they are from my "internet tech department".  I also told them to get f***ed and hung up on them.

I'm on the toothless "do not call list"....  In the caller ID it said "not in service"... any caller that screws with the caller ID isn't legit anyway, but I like to know what thieves knocked on my door.  It's too bad you can't report them and get them shut down!  Hell is too good for them...

Just got my first call from this number - NOT IN SERVICE indeed!  Who's dumb enough to answer when the caller ID says that?  The poster above is absolutely correct - the DO NOT CALL registry is toothless, worthless and useless.

I probably should have answered this one because my PC is in the other room, but NOT connected to the internet.  I work on Macs and will never put a Windows machine on the internet under my own roof.  I don't even want a Windows partition on my Mac.
