Debt collector seeking money from a different person that was a co tenant.
Caller is Joe Tomelitz.
Joe might slow or something because he keeps repeating himself.  I have done some research on Joe and the company. Joe has filed for bankruptcy himself now he tries to collect debts.  I

A lady  left a message on my work -provided cell phone identifying herself calling from McCarthy, Burgess and Wolff. I checked online and found out they were a collection agency. I was curious to find out what it was all about since i never use my work phone in my personal business. I wanted to find out if i was a victim of identity fraud and somebody used my name. I spoke to Nina, extension # 2264, who initially refused to provide me the name on who's account is under collection, ( i certainly did not want to provide my name to them ) and was rude about it. She finally gave me a name that i never heard of before. I asked her to repeat the name, she became rude and told me that if it's not me she'll just remove it from her list and she hung up.

Same thing just happened to us about some Verizon final payment. We don’t do any business with Verizon so I didn’t even answer.

They are calling me at 930 and 10pm at night!!!

oh yes they do - I never had a Old Navy credit card but they were calling me every day about a delinquent card account.  And it took several calls to convince them.

Collection agency trying to collect a $120 dollars bill from the Internet company. Very rude people. Very unprofessional. I am so outraged, that today I decided to subscribe to another internet company. My business is done with the old company.!!!! bye bye

This "internet company" provided you with a service and then you didn't pay them?  Then they turned you over to a debt collector and you are now upset because they want their money so you are "getting back" at them by getting a different company?  What makes you think that the new company won't do the same thing when you don't pay them?

Your story is BS! If you have gone long enough to not pay for internet service, that they had to turn it over to a 3rd party collection service, they would have disconnected your service long ago. You wouldn't just now be 'subscribing' to another service.
You don't pay, they shut off your service. You don't return equipment, they turn over the cost to debt collections, which is more likely why you got a call, if you even got a call.

Debt collectors calling for an old internet box from Cox Communications that the former tenant left here at our office. I contacted the landlord and he is unaware of any issues with Cox. I am planning to file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General for unwanted phone calls and harassment.
