These people are calling a company that no longer is in business

Called me. Asking for me, blocked number.
A possible zombie debt.
After five years a debt is not owed to a company.
It becomes a tax write off.
Places like this buy the dept note cheap and try to cash in on unsuspecting fools.

New Panasonic phone has capable blocking 250 number, or you can buy pro call blokcer block up to 1500 number ( I have 2 of these)

They only have 1 chance to call(harrass) me, and their number is in history (well, they spoof number and I keep blocking them again)


You can file a complaint to ftc ( It may or may not work) but it there's enough people to complaint, things will change ?

Continually, at the main office number we are recieving a call from McCarthy Burgess and Wolf they ask, in a recording that we call them back, at 440-735-5115 with an extension that is 8 digits long. From what I read, it seems that they have to be called back. I will just hang up from now on. Thank you all for your posts.

Who says it's even valid ? Yes, I can see by your post that MBW  alone that has some very unprofessional punks working for them. Harassment style tactics. They need to be harassed, in kind, right out of business.

same here...small bill they're trying to threaten us to pay...will continue to ignore these a holes...let them pay court fees which are triple the amount in question due to their own mistakes...

I keep receiving harassing phone calls from the number above and I have told them I don't know why they are calling and I have asked them to stop calling me.  The just called again this afternoon, I tried to call them to request that they stop calling me and I did get any answer from them.  Please stop them from calling me

Got call today and one yesterday, only a different number. I let the first one last night have it in no certain terms. We are elderley and live in an area where the family grew up and therefore there are lots of people with the same names. Fed up as we owe no one and sick and tired of these harrassing calls.

Calling every day and I am sick of this when I owe no one. We are elderly plus there is someone here who is in poor health. I take the phone off so this person can rest when needed but then no one can reach me at home if they need to tell us something. What can a person do?????

Um... you need to revisit history yourself.  It was a DEMOCRAT-run congress those last years of Bush's presidency.  He didn't pass the bad laws, the democrats in congress did.  Look it up.

I just laugh since call block means the phone does not ring, and it hangs up on them.
If they have something to say, send a letter.

A Laura Strick called asking for me regarding a collection matter.  She left a curt message and a case number that I should reference when returning her call.  I have no idea what this lady is talking about.

Please learn the law before you post.  I learned the hard way.  If you have a legitimate debt,  the collection agency CAN file a civil case on behalf of their client and they CAN garnish your wages up to 25% percent of your income AND all monies in ANY of your bank accounts less $400 once the case is determined in the creditor's favor.  While most collection agencies push the boundaries, if you owe the debt, you owe the debt and it will not go away unless you file bankrupcty or live on government disability or pension (they can't take either of them). By the way, when they garnish the money, not only will the bank not tell you prior, they are legally not allowed to tell you.

Just got a call from this people, Googled the number while call in progress.  Thank goodness for 800notes!  You guys are great!!!!  

This was so and so from McCarthy, Burgess & Wolff who....in the begining wanted to talk about some invoices they received on reference #11111111 or whatever number.  Found it strange that invoices would be, what appeared to be a legal firm in Ohio since we do not do business with anyone in Ohio.  I put the call on Mute for a few while I entered several searches in Google.  Found all of these responses and simply hung up.

Statute of Limitations people.........

Again, thank goodness for 800notes and everyone that posts on here...keeping us abreast on the low life, and our rights.

Actually, there is debt forgiveness in the bible it is called the year of Jubilee and every 7 years all debts owed were forgiven! So, no we won't burn in he'll sorry. It was actually the tax collectors of that time that were considered the lowest of society lol!

The MCcARTHY, BURGESS & WOLFF, is also harassing me for couple of weeks. They are located in Cleveland, Ohio.
440-735-5100 Adam ext 2381. He couldn't find our business in their system or our phone number. Yet we get an automated call every day several times a day.
Adam said if I could get the code at the end of the message he might be able to help us.
We need to find out why they are calling and if they cannot find us in the database they could keep on calling.
The caller ID says 1-253-348-2667 in Tacoma, WA.
