I used to work for a company that is now closed. I was the main contact for the payroll company and now MB&W call me every day telling me I owe $1000. Every call I explain it was not my account or company and they say they will note the account as such and then next day (even later same day!) surprise, they call again with the SAME bs! Last call I told the lady I've spoken to them numerous times to explain this and she replied "no you didn't you have never spoken to us". Really? Now they're getting sued. I hope everyone does the same.

Report them to the BBB, they will stop contacting you. They don't even fight it, they know they are violating the Fair Debt Collections Act by calling before 8am and calling ex-employees about other people's debts.

The BBB has no authority to do anything so filing a complaint does nothing except to provide entertainment for people like me who enjoy reading it.

What you need to do is educate yourself on the FDCPA.  If they are calling before 8am, it is a violation and they can be sued.  I believe it's 1000$ per infraction.

Tape all your calls from them. Free apps on google. They pass accounts from collector        to collector. The collector doesnt put notes on account if debtor disbutes debt,so he can transfer/flip account to someone else. AT&T,Verizion non of these companies provide proof of debts. Their records r a mess. Tape all cobversations then sue them

So I get a call from this number saying I owe a credit card service 810.00 I told them I had canceled and closed my business. First of all the bill the credit card company sent me was 149.00 not 810.00. She said everything was going to be recorded I said fine. I told her that I signed up with this company and I was only obligated to 6 months which I did she said send me the contract which says that. I said fine she was going to give  me her email. I told her that I was not going to pay anything and she then said okay and hung up. She never did give me her email.

I have received phone calls for months.  Then I spoke to the woman. She nor anyone else can tell me where this "debt" of 2,000$$ came from.  No documents not even a company nothing.  She calls me every single day more than once and leaves harassing voicemails.  Ones to where she is actually YELLING.  Now she wants to talk to my boss. ..... My boss is still laughing.  These people are ignorant.  They need to be shut down. This is literally harassment.  What good is it going to do you to call people every single day who do not have the money.

I understand I have a debt, and am paying a very small balance (less than $300.00) in monthly installments as per the agreement.  This isn't good enough for "Mister Hot Button".  I get frequent calls prior to the due day asking for payment!  Then... 3 days before the due date, I get harrassing calls from same fore mentioned person about filing suit against me.  COME ON - I'M PAYING AS AGREED!  In fact, I'm paying more than the agreed amount, so I figure this is why he's calling.  He feels I am holding out and can pay the balance.  No, I take my debts seriously, and unfortunate circumstances resulted in default.  I own this and am being responsible, why am I being bullied.  I should just by pass these people and pay the original company, this way they don't collect their fee, that would serve him right!  Then he can harass them for HIS money.  Nothing nice about these people, no matter how they gift wrap it.

I have told the caller from 440-735-5100 on numerous occasions that I am not a contact for the collection he is trying to perform, I have requested to be taken off the list several times, but still receive several calls a week.  What can I do to get these people in trouble for their harassing methods.  I am sick of people just getting to do whatever they want, don't these people EVER have to answer to anyone for what they do?

This number calls and of course I screen all of my calls because my new number used to belong to a mechanic's business. We used to get a lot of calls for him and they were normally local numbers. Anything unreconizable, would not be answered. The caller ID states: A R Dept Mccart 440-735-5100. I let the answer in machine pick up the call. Hang up, no message left. Maybe they're looking for that guy that used to own this phone number? I am also on the Do Not Call List.

Your caller does not own or maintain this website.  You will have to tell your caller that the bill was paid.

Since many of the people on this thread are being contacted by scammers - per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller who refuses to mail a debt validation letter - do not accept email or fax - showing that you owe a debt and that your caller has the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this DV letter within five days of their first call is another violation of the FDCPA.  It's also federal law that debt collectors and attorneys working as or on behalf of debt collectors comply with the FDCPA, which means that THEY - not you, the consumer - have the burden of proof to show that you owe a debt to them.
