Have started calling me every day since 5/30/12. Recorded message with the "your number attached to a file,etc"  for American Home Mortgage Servicing. American Home Mortgage Servicing has other names and suite filed against them in at least 2 states by the state attorney general.

Don't be absurd.  It's illegal to contact other than the debtor.   It is harrassment and is illegal.  Either you don't work for HP or you work for a company engaged in illegal, unethical business practices.

I too am getting these calls.  One every morning, same time.  When I hear the recording I just hang up.  I figured, "boy the nerve of using a recording to sell me something,  and then I gotta call them back on my dime."   Now after looking up the number of these jokers,  I've come to conclusion that they are probably a well- tuned scam,  fishing for info on everybody and anybody. I've had the same phone number for three moves now,  and have no debt.  SCAM !!

Well ladies and Gents I also worked at HP Locate which was most definitely a legitimate business!! First of all the business started only 2 years ago so they are actually still workin out a few kinks. BUT as far as the work that was done, Just because u feel like its harassment Does Not mean it is!! There are rules and protocols that are followed! If they said you couldnt call friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.... then we wouldnt have! As for the agent who called at 2am That 1 agent was wrong and im more than sure fired! That was 1 person who broke the rules not the entire company. This Erik R person was standing up for the company in the first post when he was still working there, but it seems like after u lost ur job is when u got on here and started down talking the company? STILL UPSET HUH? LOL! Get over it! And as was said  they have the right to call whom ever is listed in the national database as a possible contact for the person they r looking for. Every1 does not always update their information so if you receive a call thats for some1 u dont know simply tell them that. I dont know that person please dont call me again. Simple as that! But at the same time with my experience when i was there im sure i spoke with over 100 people who said they were not the person we were looking for but in fact were. When this happens guess what we have to invalidate your actual number and try to get in contact with u thru others. And for the fam and friends who want to be nosey and find out what it is before actually helping out make it harder on us and themselves. WE CAN NOT RELEASE ANY1S PRIVATE INFO TO JUST ANY1! THAT IS Y THEY HAVE TO VERIFY THAT THEY ARE SPEAKING WITH THE CORRECT PERSON. HP Locate is simply a Locating company not a debt collector. They locate people, Thats the damn job!! Heritage Pacific is the company that HP Locate comes from and they are the actual collectors. Do ur homework!!

Straight up, skip tracing is BS. You order a pizza at your local pizza joint, and your number gets put into that chain's database. Guess what? That's how these 'locators' find you.

These people have been bothering the hell out of me.  When I tried to press '!" to get my name off the list, it just drops the cal.  I am calling them to tell them to stop the harassment and I am reporting them to the State Attorney General.

I recieved 4 calls from HP Locate today in the span of 5 minutes.  All calls came from a blocked number and 1 message was left.  I'm a single male with no debt.  I have a common last name and they are looking for information on a female with the same last name that I don't know.  Needless to say, the entire situation is extremely shady.  My number is listed on the FTC's and my state's Do Not Call lists.  If I receive any additional calls, then complaints will be filed with the FTC and the state attorney general's office.  There is no reason to contact me multiple times over complete strangers because I have a common last name.

They call my cell phone from a blocked number and denied being a part of a collection service. In the meanwhile, they were calling for my brother who is a homeless, mentally ill veteran, who does not even live in the state where I reside. What money they believe that they can get out of my brother is beyond me! I am going to report this organization to the attorney general though. I am also going to google the name of the man, who called. Just FYI for you, the gentleman claimed that his name was Jaime Diaz and that he is a private investigator.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the HP stands for in the company name of "HP Locater?"

I keep getting calls from 888-331-1438. when I call back with my number blocked they ask if Im calling from 469 341-0107. after calling that number I find they are the same company HP Locate. They will not say who they want or what they want just repeatedly ask for my number to remove it. I told the guy to give me his home phone number and when I validate it is really his home phone number then I will give him mine. he hung up. I called after the next call and it went the same way, however I did tell them i would not give them my number so they could validate that they reached a live home  phone and I hung up

I understand skip-tracing and how it works but this company has never called me before, nor have I ever gotten a call for the person they are looking for (Julie "something") so I am not sure how they got my number and why they think it's hers. Also they called me three times within a little over an hour this morning. I think if you leave a message, it's not necessary to keep calling. I called the number back and the man who answered claimed he couldnt hear me (another issue I've never had) and I ended up hanging up. He called right back from an 800 number asking if I was this Julie. I explained to him he had a wrong number...he kept asking if I knew Julie. I told him not only do I not know her, this has been my phone number for quite a while and I have never received a call for her, so I dont think this was ever even her number. He said he'd remove my number, but sounded a little sarcastic like he didnt believe me that I wasnt her (or didnt know her). I hope they dont call back. I dont mind a wrong number, but three times in an hour? That's unprofessional. I used to do skip tracing and collections and we would have never been allowed to call that much...in fact, back when I did it, that would have been illegal.

I got a phone call from hp locate telling me about emergency regarding my husband . I called back since I don't know who the [***] they were , they wanted information from me about my husband since they couldn't get hold of him , bit they refused to even tell me what was the issue ?!!! It's confedential and they can't release it unless my husband sign the paper !!!!!! So why the [***] are you calling me for ?!!!!!! I didn'tprovide them with any information . When this [***] is going to stop ? Why there is no law against harassment ?
