HOW DARE THEY!!! replies to Duke
How dare they ask you how you are.  What a bunch of assines.  Courtous calls?  BAH!  I don't want any of them.  I would much rather have zero customer service from a company.  So you sent them a nasty email?  You go girl!!  You showed that multi-billion dollar company how it was and gave them a little piece of your little mind.

I'm guessing you're the same person that gets pissed when the bagger at the checkout of your local supermarket doesn't double-bag your groceries for you while you nitpick the teenager or mentally handicapped worker as to why you like to separate your dairy items from the meat items instead of just bagging your tofu bars and acne cream yourself.

It is Go Daddy as I dialed the number and that is how they answered. No message left and they do have my email address so figured it wasn't important enough to try and chase down.

FACT: people can spoof caller ID and make any number appear when they call you. Now does this mean that all calls from this number are fake? NO.

Some people here are posting that they got an automated message saying that it was Godaddy.com from this number and are swearing to everyone else that this number is legit. DON'T BELIEVE IT.

Just because this is a real number, does not mean everyone calling is in fact from Godaddy.com, If your not sure just hang up and call them back. PERIOD. No one can spoof the number YOU dial ever.

Chances are there are both things happening here. Most of the time if it's a legit call from a legit company they have no problems leaving a message. If they don't leave a message or act suspect when you ask for a call back number, its most likely a scam.

If you're not sure just check your email, or call godaddy.com directly. Why even bother to risk it.

My lord, you people are [***].

You REGISTERED for your domain through GoDaddy.  THEY KNOW YOU.  Your "private" registration means that the GENERAL PUBLIC can not do a WHOIS and find out who you are.  The company you PURCHASED FROM knows who you are, which should be obvious to anyone with half a brain, as they need your information to bill you, set up the domain, etc.

And yes, to confirm what others have said, this is certainly GoDaddy, who calls every so often with reminders of renewals and such.  Ignore the weirdo doing the (incorrect) tracing of the line.  This is GoDaddy, and it's not a scam, it's timely information as others have posted.  These calls always come from the same number, have for years, and coincide with my domains or hosting about to expire.

I rec'd a call from this number and based on their questions it just felt suspicious.  That's why I looked up the number on Google.  They said they were from GoDaddy and wanted my PIN number.  I said I have done 30 websites with GoDaddy and never got a call like that.   Don't know for sure, but it just didn't seem legit.

I worked for Godaddy for 3 years as of recent. The number is not Godaddy but I company they outsource to, to make the periodic calls. So yes, its not Godaddy, but a company hired by them. Hope this helps.

oh geez, what a crybaby.  You don't have to pick up calls during dinner -- it's your fault if you interrupted dinner to do so.  And as far as whining about privacy, GoDaddy *has* to know your private details -- all hosting services require them to register you.  And it's in your best interest that they understand your needs and help if they can.  God it seems like people just want to complain, even if there's nothing to complain about.

Though there's 12 pages I can also verify this is legitimately GoDaddy, having called the number on their actual website to confirm. This is the department that calls you to discuss things that are going to expire, IE: your domain name or your hosting. You may as well take the damn call if you're really annoyed about the messages, because it's not like it's collections or something.
