Received the electronic voicemail saying that it was my final notice that the IRS has been trying to contact me and that a lawsuit had been filed against me. I called the phone number and it was immediately answered by a gentleman with a foreign (Middle Eastern) accent. Here is the call log:
(Operator) "Thanks for calling Internal Revenue Service, this is officer Shawn Marsh and how may I help you?"
(Me) "Yes sir, I got a voicemail asking me to call back?"
(Operator) "Can I have your name please?"
(Me) "My name is Tracy P_______."
(Operator) "Ms. P_______, are you still residing at ____________?"
(Me) Yes sir.
(Operator) "Okay Ms. P______, can you just verify me your Social Security so that I can pull your case file ma'am?
(Me) "I'm sorry, to be honest I'm not sure if this is all legitimate so I would rather not."
(Operator) "Well ma'am, I'm not able to help out in this situation so it's better that you can hang up with this line ma'am. Thank you. Have a blessed day.

received same call about IRS filing lawsuit! Got mine 6/25/25 just a scam. I wouldn't call the number back. Advise others not to either! Just about about as bad as the one I keep getting from some foreign speaking guy that he's from window's IT dept and they say they keep getting Errors from my computer! Only I don't use windows either! Lol

I just got the same call saying it was the IRS and it was their last attempt to get it touch with me and they were filing a lawsuit. I never answer if it's an unknown number. These losers who scam are pathetic. Reporting them too

Same call from same number.  Obvious scam.

Called the number back (cuz the IRS is threatening to sue me)and got a man with a heavy Pakistan accent.  He called me a F---  B--- and said he wanted to suck his c----.  Loser. I hung up also called the state police and reported them to local IRS office.

Same thing happen to me when I called back I started by asking him questions , he got frustrated and he hung up. By the way the call center is located in India using U.S. number.

How did you realize its a scam....I know the IRS wouldn't call, just wondered if you talked to someone?

Recorded female voice states "last attempt" to call before filing a law suit. when was the "first attempt".
IRS communicates via postal, and calls are live agents. What is this?

Got the same lines as above about IRS calling. They must think everyone is stupid, I would never return a call like that especially when they don't even know who they are calling!!! I love this site it really helps a lot  to view everyone's comment about these low life scammers....

June 26 saying the IRS was suing me and I had to call back. Came from "Starbuck, WA". Not very original. Actually listed as being in Walla Walla.

I received the same message from the IRS.  Hoax for sure, IRS uses mail.

Same recorded message as everyone else. Didn't attempt to call it back because it didn't seem legit. Cleary I was correct.
