- Cheryl replies to Sheryl WolffWhat a relief to see that this is a scam! I received the same recorded message that the IRS had a lawsuit against me and it was their final attempt to reach me. I did call the number back, but a recorded message came on stating that the person (unknown name) was not available and to leave a message.
Ridiculous! - Anne SmithI received a call from 509 320 4239 - recorded message saying it was the IRS, they were filing a lawsuit against me, and I should call the number back for more information.
I was pretty sure it was not legitimate as the IRS would contact me by mail and would never do so via a recorded message. I checked the number online and found that other people had a similar experience.- Call type: Prank
- SandraJust got that same call. No names just the IRS with last attempt to reach me that they were filing a lawsuit against me. When I try to call number back keep getting busy signal.
- Caller: Supposedly IRS
- rddHi just received a call from this number stating that it was the IRS making a final attempt to reach me and that they were going to file a lawsuit.
- JimI too received this call. Caller ID says out of area. That is always a sign of a scammer. This same scam with a different number was going around earlier this year. It made the television. This time they used a robot female voice instead of actually using their Indian accent. We also received three of the previous irs scam calls. We always block the numbers and it will be quiet for a week and then the scams start up again with new numbers. It is never ending.
- jrhI also got a call from this number and they claimed they were from the IRS and were filing a lawsuit against us. We don't answer unknown numbers and we know from the news that the IRS won't contact you by phone. So we know it was a scam.
- ReardonJust got a call from this number. I didn't answer, and it went to voice mail. Listened to the message and it was a recording reading off the number 509-320-4239.
These robo-calls are really getting out of control. Seems like buggy software to me. I've been on the Do Not Call Registry since 2003 (verified yesterday) and it doesn't seem to matter any more., - Robert A. StumpWe got call from this number claiming that IRS was suing us.
- DReceived similar call. I figured a scam but called it. Talked with a live person, obviously foreign, asking what this was about. I was told that we are being sued by the IRS in regards to our federal taxes. I stated that would I do not trust this call and am requesting papers be sent to me. In a very short and abrupt response I was questioned why I did not trust the phone call and before I could respond I was told that I would be receiving the paperwork via FedEx. Seriously, FedEx?!!!!

- Debra SReceived a call from this number on July 1, 2015 - recorded message in a female voice saying that this was the IRS and it is a final attempt to contact me because they have a lawsuit against me and I was instructed to call them back and the number was given again in the message. I knew it was a scam because the IRS would not leave a message like that - they would contact you by mail. I didn't call the number back and came here to see if others had received the same message, which apparently lots of folks have. Not sure what what kind of scam this is but it had all the signs of one.
- KarenYeah, I'll pick up on your call. While we're at it, let me give you my SS#---which I bet you want me to recite to you for "confirmation", then I'll give you my bank routing and account numbers so I can settle up this IRS debt----which I know nothing about. I'm SO glad you are giving me this last opportunity to pay you by phone before the IRS police come to my house and cuff me!
GET A FREAKING REAL JOB, LOSERS, LIKE THE REST OF US! And if anyone is foolish enough to fall for this scam then you deserve what you get. - Dorsi7-2-15. Received the exact phone call from Starbucks Wa. #509-320-4239. Called back to a busy signal. Got on computer & feel at peace.....SCAMMERS! Thank You.
- Caller: IRS
- BakeI got the same call. Ironically I have dealt with the IRS and they never call you unless you make an appointment. In fact getting them to call you is like getting Jesus to come over for dinner. Near impossible. Lastly they would not use a robo call. These scammers should burn.
- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Event reminder
- DonKeep getting robo threat calls from this number. The message demands me to return the call and warns that the IRS is going to file a law suit against me,
- catey replies to Nadia wellsthe 509-320-4239 called 2 days ago. my husband looked it up and it was a Starbucks in Va. somewhere. the main thing with these FRAUD guys to know is to never call them back at the number they give you..... check your own information and call that number only!

- annieThis morning I received a call from the 'IRS' saying an arrest warrant had been issued for me due to overdue taxes from 2008-20013 and I owed $4200.00. All sorts of nonsense about registered letters, unanswered phone calls. They would not send me any documentation and they wanted to stay on the phone while I got ready to leave the house, and during the drive to the credit union, (so they could document my cooperation with the counts, and would only upon arrival at the credit union would they give an 'IRS' account number to transfer the money to.
While they were on hold, I called the IRS while a friend looked up IRS scams. I got back on the phone and told them what we had done and if they were a scam they could hang up now. They tried to bluff that they were real, but then hung up.- Caller: 'IRS'

- Mary Ann replies to richardsToday is July 7 and I just received the same call from Starbuck WA saying the IRS was suing me and I had to call back. I cannot believe people actually fall for this.
- LauraHad recorded msg from this number claiming to be IRS and this was the last call before a lawsuit. Upon returning call I asked what the problem was. They were looking for my husband who's first name they couldn't even pronounce! When I was told about taxes owed due to miscalculation I advised that I always used a professional and I wanted the info mailed to me first. They hung up afterwards. I had a feeling it was a scam but the words IRS have a way of getting your attention!
- Caller: IRS
