I received a call from a guy threatening me with arrest for a payday loan. He said to pay back almost 5 times as much. When I asked to provide more details about his company he became irritated. Is this a legal company? The phone number is 512-340-0493.

Yeah I got the same message on my machine.  Actually he said he was Investigator Rich Franklin from Travis County and I needed to call him immediately.  Gave his number 512-340-0493*12 and then said that I had been legally notified and good luck.  

I also know that I don't have any payday loans.

I recieved the same call at work but call back *67 and found out information on the company before providing that I was returning a call back and the guy had such a hard time finding my information until I disconneted. I felt that the company was a bill collector yes yall are right you can not have any legal charges filed for a payday loan. So thanks before I decided to call back.

this guy needs to be stopped.  He calls himself Investigator Rich Franklin and is going around threathening people for payday loans and how you will be arrested by the next day and go to jail for 10 years.  I will notify the police, if he calls again.

he called me like ten times. he also called some of my friends and told them that I was going to be arrested. he send me a fax with some phony letter head with no address. What a fake!!! I was so pissed, dont fall for the scam. They should be reported.

I received the same message but when I went into work yesterday, I was arrested because the ach draft was considered a hot check in the state of texas, My mom had to pay almost $1400 dollars to bail me out and they wouldn't let me bond out it had to be the entire bail cause it was a capias warrant. but thanks though cause I can't find that guys number and will be calling him to give him a piece of my mind!!!! Investigator Rich Franklin has caused me to lose my job cause of this. Plus I have to appear on the 3rd of january to plea.

i didn't believe them either so i did some investigating myself and found out in fact you can be arrested if in fact there is any false info what so ever on your application and because it was done on the internet you could be charged with internet fraud as well this is some scary stuff i vow never to get a loan again. I hope you guys take this stuff seriously it could affect you for the rest of your life.

A guy called my house and told my mom that I had until friday on noon to call him back (number being 512-340-0493) or he would have to push me through to the warrant department, but wouldn't say why he was calling.. This same thing happened a couple of months ago and I called the police and they said that it is all a scam. Especially since they are in texas and I live in michigan.

Phyllis and Noodles (nice name) are liars - probably trolls for these collector sleazebags.  You CAN'T be arrested for this without a warrant signed by a judge which he will not grant without proof which bottom-feeders like these guys NEVER HAVE.  They're trying to intimidate with empty threats and big mouths - give them as good as they get as it's the only thing these lowlifes understand.

I was called to get in touch with my friend who was going to be arrested for bank fraud.  He would not tell me who was investigating her, but said it was public record in travis county.  He left the same number.  When I hung up on him he called back 4 times!  What an a**

I was called over and over again at my job place. I reported them to my local police agency and as well to the BBB and the FBI White Collar Crime. I have gotten a lawyer and I am going to sue them for harassment, especially at my job. Don't let these guys get away with this. I have never been in trouble ever in my life and it scared me to get a phone call stating that I was going to go to jail and could get up to 10 years in jail. That's scary for someone who never did anything wrong. I didn't even know what was going on. My bank told me that they get people's information, distribute money into their account, and then they come after them for almost triple the amount. My bank deemed it was fraud and they reversed the charges. If this is happening, please tell somebody; don't let these guys get away with it. The alias that they used with me were Investigator Richard Franklin and Allan Parker... Please don't fall fraud to these people and don't send them any money.

Allen Parker called my sister yesterday and my mother and told my sister that he was going to issue a bench warrent for my arrest for a payday loan if I did not call him back by today at 4:00pm.  When I called him back I let him know I had lost my job and he told me since I closed my account it was considered fraud.  I let him know I did not close my account the bank did.  That's not fraud.  When I asked him what company he was from because i'm at the hospital with my daughter he could not give me an answer.  Now I have called a family lawyer who has pulled up the law and has told me payday loans have to follow the same proceedure as other collection companies.  If you sent them a check written out to that company they follow the bounce check laws.  If it was done over the internet then it has to go to collections and another company can buy it from them.  I havn't sent anyone a check but I did take out two payday loans before I went into financial difficulties so until they tell me which one they are collecting from or send me a letter stating how much I owe them I don't believe I'll be sending them anything.  Mr. Parker stated he would send a letter to my email address and I have not gotten a letter yet.  So how am I to know who I am paying if he does not tell me who he is with or who he is collecting for.

First of all, Alan Parker (if that's his real name) can't issue bench warrants for anything. No debt collector has the authority to have anyone arrested for anything. And if your sister and mother weren't co-signers, then he can't legally disclose to them information about your alleged debt. (The law allows debt collectors to contact a third party for no other purpose than to locate you. They can't tell the third party why they are looking for you nor can they make some sham, illegal threat about your impending arrest.

You need to brush up on your rights. If I were you, I'd sue this jerk.  Many law firms don't charge you for representation unless you win a suit. Check out Warren & Vullings, LLP...they are once such firm and specialize in nailing debt collectors who violate the law. Thank you I appreciate the information.  I was ironically going to have my sister send them money tomorrow and realized I didn't even know the name of their company, I was already hesitant about which place they were collecting for.  Mr. Parker gave me information to send them a money gram, told me which form to use and said to put the company name as LTA but when I did a google for the company name I found nothing so I was hesitant.  Thank you for the lawyers advice, I'll do that.
