What state do you live in?  I thought in most states you could not be arrested for a "bounced check" to a payday loan company, it is a civil suit.

So what happened with your alleged 'court appearance'?

Post the case number so it can be researched on PACER to confirm if this really did happen. I personally don't believe it did.

Hi, I dealt with this people last year and YES they are a SCAM!!! But in order for them not to call me anymore at work I paid them but I negotiated and told them that if they really wanted my $$ I was not going to pay them the amount of $550 I can only afford to pay $175 and they accepted. That Rich Franklin sent me an email with the agreement (which I requested) and the email looked so FAKE. But anyway I had made several calls to the FTC but I needed more people to call them and the DA of Texas because if it was only me complaining nothing could of been done. Well afterall I paid those [***] a total of $550+ including other pymts I had made before the final $175. So don't panic just ask questions and they'll deny it. I once told Travis Watson, he called yelling at me I guess he thought I was going to get scared because I'm a woman so I told him he had no right to yell at me and that him and everyone else are so unprofessional that a REAL collection agency tries to help make pymt arrangements and don't make threats.Then I started recording him and made him aware of it so once I told him he was being recorded he hung up on me.

u guys r going to live and learn like i did. i will admit i took out the loan but i didnt want to pay it back cuz i read this stupid site and beleive u guys and blew them off. well guess what? they CAN arrest you for bank fruad. It took them almost a year and half to find me but now i am screwed. when you take out A PAY DAY  loan then dont pay it back, dude thats really stealing when you think about it. oh LTA showed up in court too.  Dude, i was stupid 4 listening to all the crape yall wrote about them. call the attroney generals office we did (my parents), LTA is for real.  dude, our police station told my family the same crap about them being in texas, they were wrong too. oh, u will find out everything when it comes back on u. even the cop told my parents a year and a half was really fast for them to find me cuz most of the time it usually takes up to 3 years sometimes. so all i have to say is WOW!!!!!

so what happened with lta? i am meeting with an attorney about them calling my work, my hrmo office and even my mom. all i wanted was written proof of the debt which i am entitled to under the new york state fair debt collection act. they refused to provide this information. first it was alan parker investigator, now its brook hayes making the calls. according to my attorney lta is being sued by 5 people in the buffalo, ny area alone.
any info you can provide would be most appreciated.

I AM SO UPSET RIGHT NOW!!!! I cannot believe I was stupid enough to believe these posts. Due to these stupid posts I did not take care of my account. Thinking that it was a scam. WELL I JUST GOT SERVED AT WORK! I JUST GOT FIRED FOR BEING SERVED AT WORK! Now I am being taken to court on the full amount owed and maybe facing charges FOR LISTENING TO WHOEVER POSTS THIS CRAP! I thought about not posting so you will have to go through what I am now going through, BUT I don’t want anyone new to have to deal with the problems I know have. I was just thinking the same thing about the trolls.  Seem to be a lot of them out there on these blogs.  "Oh my yes... I was arrested for that!"  Uh huh!  Sure you were.  As it turns out, I've READ the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and I know that payday loan checks do NOT count as "bad checks" because the PDL company knew you didn't have the money when they accepted the check.  (Google it yourself - page 20 of the document.)  I also spoke to an attorney today who is a specialist in collection law and she is handling a similar case for us.  She told me that it is ILLEGAL for anyone to threaten jail for ANY debt including default payday loan checks (it doesn't happen), it is ILLEGAL for the agency to tell anyone ELSE that they are coming after you (your friends, relatives, boss, etc.) and it is ILLEGAL for them to keep calling you when you've asked them to stop, or to use abusive and threaening language with you.  Anyone who says differently is either leaving out important info, or just plain lying!  (I'm in California, by the way.)

i looked up every state and there is NO one sueing this company! it has taken me months to do this but finally i have the answerS 4 all u dumb [***] u didnt investigate CORRECTLY!!!! LTA is very legal, in fact they have a federal reserve and scam companys dont have one, duh because their scams. you have to go thru this whole legal process to have a federal reserve, investigate urself. i looked up every bbb report and in the 6 years this company has been in business, 43 reports(thats it) to the bbb and they ALL have been closed because LTA firm was right!!! Stop believing what other people say, be a leader NOT a follower and do your investigation. If someone told you to jump off a bridge would you? so why would you believe what complete strangers say? its not that ur not paying back a loan but when you do and use false info "that is bank fraud", a federal crime at that, look it up!!! i also looked up courts records on this company and they have taken alot of people to court and won and put alot of people in jail. dude, this company has even caught criminals doing identity theft scams and helped cops bust them as well.  so after months of investigating i have found out the truth, they are LEGAL NOT a scam.....guess where i work? For an attorney because my brother took out a loan with this company so be careful who you are messing with and also they are in same building as the austin police dept.

hi...about 5-6 years ago my soon to be ex husband took out a bunch of loans over the internet.cash.n.minutes was one of them.it got paid back but because my ex was greedy,when i was at work one day he decided to take out another one with these people.i had closed my account and we seperated.well years later i am in another relationship and finding that hard times have shown thier heads once again.i had opened up another bank account and tried to get a loan.to my surprise,the loan that i never even knew about that my ex tried for and got(but never paid back) was now my debt because my information was used.i now supposedly have a warrant issued for my arrest and i have been threatened with having my county benefits revoked....
