I have the entire 516 area code blocked due to many nuisance calls from this area code so this call like the other 516 buggers couldn't go through.

I called the number back and it says Verizon Wireless this number has been disconnected!  Geez, stop these idiots!  I don't want a hearing aid, I don't want to vote for you, I don't want free groceries, and I **** sure don't want your medical alert!

Didn't pick up. Voice mail was about the medical alert that was packaged and ready to go. I've gotten that message almost daily from different numbers.

Buffy thanks you got the ball rolling with a name while others repeated that they got the call but no info. I will be looking it up in the data base to find out if this person exist or is a fake name. I don't think its comcast fault because there has been a huge increase in scams and telemarketing. My home phone is under a different name and a scammer called it which I never answered and then the odd part is that they contacted my cell phone which is not linked to this address and a different name. The FCC needs to stop messing with the internet over net neutrality and go after these phone scammers..

I am also getting these annoying calls.  Caller ID comes up wireless caller.  It does no good blocking these because they'll just call from another number.  Thanks everyone for the information.  I don't answer or I'll pick up the receiver and hang up after one call!!

5/21 14:34 PDT  I know these creeps have tried to scam me in the past, but since I don't answer unidentified calls under any circumstances, let them keep wasting their time.  This rang thru to voicemail, but didn't stay on long enough to register.  Have now blocked number so it won't ring more than once any more.  This is the 6th call so far today from an unidentified caller.

Other than pushing amnesty, I am not sure Schumer does much of any thing except collect his salary and special interest money.

IF it is an out of area call [telemarketer ]   You can get  A    PANASONIC  PHONE from Wal-Mart for about $59.00  with 2 base station and handset  That will BLOCK calls after the first ring. I am VERY HAPPY with my 2 handset phones with bases.
Have used them since Christmas 2013   They will block 30 calls then you have to start deleting some of the earlier calls after about 2 weeks.    These also come in a 4 and 5  handsets .  To remove earlier blocked calls,,,,GO to MENU and scroll to call block and will tell you how many calls you have blocked at this time.   YOU SAVE call and it will ask,,,,PHONE BOOK   OR    CALL BLOCK.   Very easy to use and I LOVE them.     Instructions included.   some electronics  and programming helpful also.

I am sooo happy to have my caller ID - I simply do not pick up any number that I am not familiar with, any number that does not list who it is from, or any number from an area code in which I know I know on one. I check those numbers I am not familiar with on-line. I do not think I have been disappointed yet....

Very annoying, wireless caller.  Leaves an incomplete message in voicemail.  My blocked caller list only holds 30 numbers; that's not enough for all the unwanted calls that come through.  I don't answer them and immediately erase the number.

Sometimes I answer the phone and then lead them all on for as long as I can. I'm just trying to waste their time.
Usually after about 10 minutes I tell them that I answered the jail phone or am in a mental hospital.

Another unwanted call to a  number that is on the do not call list. Something has to be done to stop these annoying callers.

Called me once too the other day. Medic Alert message. Every day they call on a new number. Why bother blocking anymore when they just scam a new number every day? Poor Vincent Hauck, Just not fair that they stole his number. One day they called me from my number! Scary...   I still believe Social Security sold our phone numbers.

The Do Not Call Registry is not enforced.  You can proeed on your own in civil court, but it might not be worth the money involved via a successful suit.  I think that it is $500 for the first violation.  In any case, do a search via a search engine if you are interested in obtaining the details.

To sue them you have to find them. Many, if not most, of the scammers are calling from 3rd world countries where scamming dumb Americans is not illegal and the local police do not cooperate with US law enforcement.  They cannot be found.
