Thanks - a perfect post! This should be on the front page of this site, not just down amongst individual numbers. Maybe people could copy and repost this to every number here...

For me, these spam/scam/criminal phone calls have gone out of control in the same manner as email - over 80%(!) of the calls I get are now these. I've turned off the ringer - if it is someone I know I can call them back. I've removed my full name from my answering machine message.

Remember - these people are CRIMINALS.

Recd phone call today. I did not answer and they did leave a message on my answering machine.
Call left an automated recording, selling medical devices of some type.
    Annoying telemarketers.
Caller ID reads as "New York."

Another call from these scammers.  They have multiple numbers, so when you block one, they come right back with another one.  NEVER answer these calls or you are theirs forever.  Aggravating morons.

This call came in from 516 220 3819 and it was a recording saying the same old sh*t.
I hit a random bunch of numbers and some woman started repeating all the numbers I had hit. I told her to shut up.
Caller ID said "Hauck Vincent P" so that's how these annoying, never sell anything companies are getting through. By using bogus names.
    They will all rot.

I agree. I just got a call from them too. They need to be put out of business and have them in jail. I wish our Government would strike down on these dumb [***]. I'm so friggin sick of it. My Brother and my neighbor just deleted their main phone line because of these morons. I'm about to do the same thing and just use my e-mail addresses and put parental controls on my e-mail accounts.  LOL .  These losers have nothing else better to do than to harass innocent people.  The FCC is not doing a damn thing either. I'm so pissed off. I'm sorry but they make me so mad.  I'm going to get rid of my phone line before the end of the year. I had enough.

Only the reputable telemarketers abide by the DO NOT CALL LIST.

The DO NOT CALL LIST has all the preventive effectiveness of a posted "Gun Free Zone".

Huh, you certainly have that right! "Oh, they're on the DoNotCall list? Ok,, I'll call them!"
"Gun-free zone" stickers are a joke, too. It's just saying "come and get us, as we cannot defend ourselves!"

Received a call from this number a few minutes ago.  Did not answer, and no message was left.  Thanks to all of you above message-posters.  I have added it to my caller ID list as "Medical Alert Scam".

Three calls in a row;  different numbers, all seem related to those who say it is medical devices; I did not answer any, but one right after the other within minutes  : : the 934 #, 516#, 646#   . I live away for 6 months and this fills up my "phone messages"  , all calls get listed, if they show a number.    Very annoying; the providers should be the ones to stop this. seems impossible.   It is 3 PM where I am when the calls came in.

Changing from one phone service to another is not a reason. I never got these calls until I moved to town
4 years ago and got with AT&T. That's just because AT&T is much bigger than the little telephone co-op I
was with in a rural area. I am sure it's all just because it's on the increase in general, and robo-dialing doesn't
even know who you are with.

    Very Annoyed
Yeah, the "do not call" list is a joke. VOIP (Voice over IP) numbers are so easy to obtain now this is a losing battle. They don't even have to be in the area code that they are calling from. I have a VOIP number too, and my service allows me to block idiots like this "medical alert" joke of a company.

My suggestion is to get a VOIP  service that allows you to block numbers at will. I only have experience with ooma, which allows you to have a blacklist of callers and the "community" black list which works by conglomerating all other ooma caller's blacklists and blocking the ones appearing multiple times. I log in and block new scammer numbers almost every day.I don't work for ooma, but it is the only service I have experience with.

Any phone company allows you to port your number from one service to another (I ported mine from a landline to ooma and it took only 3 days to complete). There are free VOIP services too.

My service came with two numbers, one of which is my old land line number that I ported. Only that old number gets the scammer calls.

This is another one of those bogus medical alert calls. The thing that drives me crazy is that they are displaying the name of a person in the caller id.
Say what you will about the DNCR, the fact is that illegal operations do not honor the law.

I just check the number here and block.  Just did it now with this one.  I never even answer the phone unless it's family!  I have the home phone forwarded to my cell and use 2 different blocking apps.  They are really getting a workout these days...

    Medical Alerted-Out
We have received so many calls from these medical alert device folks that it is clear that it is open season for this scam, even though we have reported them at donotcall.gov.  Perhaps the FTC and the National Security Agency should team up to clear up the air waves.  In this case, no one was there when we answered -- must have been a lucky day for their multiple dialing system and they were already on the phone with some other poor soul.
