This company calls every day incuding 8 AM on the weekends.  They ask if a Mr. Schaeffer lives here and then asks for my last 4 digits of my ssn.  I have asked and threatened them not to call but they persist.  What can be done?

Called and confirmed my name and SSN, the man acted very "helpful" surprisingly. I do owe money, I guess they found me!

(516) 390-6500 called me and would not give me any information when trying to ask who was calling.  the woman on the other line kept breaking up and was very hard to hear/understand.  she kept wanting to verify my name, i told her i was going to hang up because i am on the national do not call list. she told if i did hang up, they would just call back.  i told her please do because i could not hear or understand her.  they have not called back.  i am not sure what this call was about.

Called me prior to 9am, didnt answer, they didnt leave mssg on my machine.

i got a call from them today and sent an email which i am sure will never get answered.
i wish there was a way to block incoming calls to my cell then i would not have to waste my time with this crap

This number has shown up on my cell for the past few days. It always shows up restricted or unknown, then they call back with the number. Never get a message, but its really annoying.

Called but not answered...no message left. Previous "unknown" caller called and no message was left.

This phone number (516) 390-6500 has been calling and hanging up for a long time.
   I actually called but got a voice message. It is trilium. I sent an email to them and they said they had no account in my name. They asked for the numbers they called so they can be removed from the system.
   I gave them the numbers but now think maybe I shoudn't have. Anyway, I sent them a formal letter through the mail as well as email that they cannot contact me.
Oh well, I'll get it to stop sooner or later.

Received a call.  Asked me to verify with last 4 digits of social security.  Wouldn't do that.  Asked to verify with address, I wouldn't do that.  She asked is is ...... It wasn't our address.  I hung up, but she did give me the name Linda Stuart at 877-207-2500.for my husband to call her back.  She said it was important business information about his Bank of American VISA card, which he doesn't have.  That is when she asked me to verify his social security number as above

ask for some one has same last name as my,but live at different address. Say this person owe $600.00 past due on some kind of credit card, and $4000.00 more. When I told them no this person live here, they just hung up. we got to stop this. but how ???

I got a call from 516-765-2337. First of all they must be out sourcing their work to the Middle East. Mr Friedman (Big accent) called me this morning,(o' correction Mr. Tony Friedman) asking for my wife Mrs. Streaker (which would make me Mr. S- "nice"). When i said she is not in, He proceeded to leave a message for her. Gave me his name, number(866-923-5190) and reference #. I asked Mr. Friedman to tell me what this was in reference too. He said that if I was not Mrs. or Mr. Friedman, he could not say. (No I did not tell him who i was) But anyway, he continue to state that by Law they can't give that information to anyone else. I went back and forth playing with him for a few minutes. i mentioned that Mrs. Streaker will not return any calls, if she does not know the nature of the message first. As I continue with my routine, I must have struck a nerve, because He hung up. I guess asking for a supervisor in Spanish is out of the Question! Oh well

My experience with telemarketers has always been the same. The more you play along the more they leave you alone. Just have fun. One time I started reading the newspaper while he was on the phone. I also feel it's much better to talk to them and get things off my chest, instead of bottling up my feelings and having to pay a shrink $100's of dollars. Hey! these people called me. Just be creative and have fun. Thank you telemarketers for giving me a few extra minutes of craziness in my day.

I have received calls from this company at all times and on all days of the week.  I have been asked to provide my last 4 digits of my SS# and after I quit laughing, I asked them to provide me with the number they had and I would let them know if it was mine.  Needless to say, they hung up on me.  I asked them for their address and phone number, they told me they would not be calling back, and would not give me that information.  They call under Unknown Name and Unknown Number on the caller id.  Thanks to this site I now know who to direct my correspondence to if the calls continue.

TRITIUM CARD SERVICES called me at 7:30pm wed. 4/16. The woman on the phone was asking for me saying it was very important. She said the company was from Tritium card services, a debt collection agency and gave me a number to call back 516-390-6500. I decided it was probably a scam so I looked it up on google and found this page. Now I'm glad i said I wasn't home when she asked for me.

My mother-inlaw had been receiving these calls for months before I became involved. They are a debt collection agency of sorts. They purchase accounts that were a "write-off" account from companies that were unable to collect in a certain time frame.

I contacted the Better Business Agency in our area, they said that this is illeagle. They also said that if you are the person they are looking for and you talk to them, it starts the bill all over again.
They said that some of the reps don't care if they get the right person, since they get paid by the call.
I turned the matter over to our State Attorney-Generals office for investigation.They have stopped.......for now!

the number we are getting on CID is 8884448776....saying we owe x amount of money on a credit card from 2003 we do not have cards....is this a scam?

my husband and i recieved a call on sat.may 10th....they told my husband we owed x amount on a credit card from 2003 we told them we do not have dards they also masked for my husbands last 4 ss numbers ....that was the end of the call

We have been recieving calls since one week. Today we got a mail with creditor name, acct. number and amount owed. The funny part is when we checked the credit report the account they claim we are in default is not listed. We were never home to answer their calls. What should be our plan of action next? Concerned...

Rceievd their call on 6/05/08 at 10:49 AM. NO message left. I googled the number and that brought me to this web site.

Because I live in NY and on Long Island - no more than 9 miles from their location - if I get one more call, I will have my wife (who is a paralegal and in a local law firm) draft a letter to them with a cease and desist on Law Firm letter head, advsisng we car on the Do Not Call List.

I will also try to block their number via my phone itself.
