- TazzI had someone calling me concerning a account from the Brick from 2002? I never have purchased furniture on credit, nor do I intend to. They are very rude and I finally just put them on call block. Now I am receiving letters that are registered telling me I have 30 days to respond. Someone has more money than me. I over 60 years old and on a pension.

- meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee replies to dougits a great idea , this fighting back but how can you I mean you cant even get the telecommunication s people to forbid anyone to call anywhere and not show who's calling and what's the nature of there call .! I meen the governments are allowing companies to raise heck with everyone and be unidentified. good luck with your efforts. ..........meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
- usssssssssssssss replies to annoyedplease call the CRTC and demand that they stop anyone from hiding there identity.. we used to have similar problems years ago but not anymore . or threaten to have your phone , if its a land line to be removed permanent, get a cell governments are upholding these thing because there is likely money to be made by selling your number to these people who likely don't know how to do a days work by a real persons working class . take care .
- GurtrudeJust a few days ago, somebody started calling my number at least twice a day, from 519-963-8038. I have call-display to help me identify whoever is calling and I have neither voice mail nor an answering device/service. But, I have developed a method that helps me to avoid all annoying / unwanted calls.
Here is how I deal with them:
Whenever a caller or number is not identified on my call-display or whenever I don't feel like answering my phone, I will unplug the phone (if it's a landline), I will, in less than a second, pickup and hangup the phone (if it's a landline), I will unplug the phone (if it's a landline), I will press the "Ignore" button on my Blackberry, I will keep my cellphone off during the times that they call, or I will use a method that works wonders for me. But if I share that information here and the devious callers learn it from here, then I might not get away with it much longer. So, I will leave that up to you victims to figure it out for yourselves. Just use your noggins and you will find it. It's easy enough for you to figure out. - ArrowThey buy junk debt, and they try to collect on debts that are statute barred.
I have even heard of them trying to collect on that that are 10 years old so pay no attention they are bottom feeders.- Call type: Debt collector
- AnnoyedCalls relentlessly several times a day. There is never any recording or person on the other end.
- ScottThey call me randomly...I haven't owed anyone money in years. I just installed a free call-blocker on my android and I don't even notice when they call anymore unless I look at the blocked call log. They can keep wasting their time I guess...lol. I suggest anyone having a problem just get a call-blocker app, there are tons out there that are absolutely free.

- habsfan replies to collection agentnot totally true they have called every day since I got this number and have nothing in collections its because the number I got is recycled
- Just me replies to LuchoThat just happened to me very rude told me I shouldn't answer my phone if I don't know the number. The man that called was a very nasty.
- terry replies to Marcthey all ready called you so they have your number
- hey replies to collection agentActually, what you posted is factually incorrect. They DO NOT have the "legal right to contact you as many times as they like".
See this, this post from "collection agent"? S/he is a collection is a collection agent who is grossly uneducated about his/her own profession.
Provincial law contradicts what "collection agent" has posted:
http://www.ontario.ca/page/collection-agency-your-rights - D replies to tired ot it| 1 replyGet informed. Go to the gov't website regarding ethics of debt collectors. They are NOT allowed to call more than once a week. If they leave a message it's considered one call so hence the reason they don't leave messages. Ask for their licence/permit number if they don't have one they are a fake company. Ask them to send you a letter (do not verify your address with them) explaining the reason they are calling. DON'T EVER GIVE OUT INFO OVER THE PHONE.
- John BoersmaSick of them constantly calling me !!!
- Red-nekIllegal practices, false accusations, and unable to provide proper documentation of so called debt?
You are REQUIRED to send me, in writing, and so called owed debt BEFORE calling. You can not provide me with such documentation, and the load holder has no record of me in the first place.
Therefore I suggest you cease contact.
If you "purchased" an account, good. I purchased a car, but you don't see me trying to get others to pay it off.- Caller: PRA Canada

- timberwolfI have a great idea. Equate being a bill collector with membership in HAMAS, HEZBOLLAH, ISIS, etc. Then if one call put him/her in prison AND make the employing company pay for their upkeep while there (more expensive than sending him to Harvard). Should stop all calls quickly.
