I got a call from this number, I wish I hadn't...not sure I'd want to be a debt collector since I think a lot of them have to aggressive because they work on commissions...BUT, as much as I wish I could just handle my debt and never get another call from this number, I still think people on this forum were unfair to Chris. If he was a lowlife scum would he come on this forum and give all the information that he gave? It's helpful...

My only complaint against these guys is they don't do too much research ahead of time.  I have a fairly common name and these guys called me and gave me someone elses last 4 of SSN and a wrong address.  Would be nice if they actually figure out the person they are trying to collect from before they call.

Or....and I know this will be new to you....YOU could actually do your job and get the right person.  Gee, then maybe you'd actually make some money instead of harassing the wrong people.  Mental sticky...if someone owes you money, ask THEM, not the poor guy 3 states over.  What a moron.  However, I'm sure that there are people out there who hadn't considered the cease and desist lettter; once they've sent that, then they can sue you if you keep it up, right?  Thanks for the idea.  Lets all do it; then this jerk can get a new job cleaning stalls.

Oh, testy, testy.  You'd probably better actually read the posts, "Chris" or is that "Peggy?"  If you were legit, you'd probably make more, because you'd actually contact people who owe money.  See, loser, there are a lot of people posting here that you've bothered that don't owe you anything, no matter how you slice it.  So, I figure one of two things is going on...either you are the most grossly incompetent loser there is at what you are doing, or you've bought a bunch of debts that are past the statute of limitations, and figure what the heck, maybe I can sucker someone into paying me something.  Mama needs new shoes, huh?  BTW, thanks for validating all the complaints.  Your "straightforward advice" would only work if they were debtors.  Whining is never good business practice, so save it for the debt collectors convention.

Boy, do I hear that.  I also have a very common last name, and get collection calls for everyone with my last name that owes money in West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.  You gotta love caller id, though.  If I don't recognize it, I don't pick it up.

Chris, if your profession took the people you're talking to into consideration a little more and you weren't trained to be a##holes, you might get a little more respect on forums such as this... It's hard times out there in the world today and the bills that everyone thought they could pay 2 years ago aren't as easy to pay now... These people would pay if they COULD, but for one reason or another can't.  Having rude, mouthy, threatening, nasty jerks like you calling them everyday isn't going to make a pot of money fall out of the sky for them, so, think about that the next time you dial the number to someone who is behind in their bills.... It could be you someday getting the same calls, so shut the hell up, show a little respect, and be NICE

Collections agents are uniformly cowards who utilize every scumbag technique at their disposal. They buy bad debts and then threaten consumers, assuming that consumers will not exercise their rights. Judging by your response it is easy to see where you are in the equation. People should demand validation of every bad debt especially from this company.

AMEN! they even tried to get me to borrow from family members! If my husband's job hadn't been outsourced to INDIA we wouldn't be in this situation and them calling and being rude isn't going to fill our pocketbook

We know all aout debt collector BS so I told the tard that I never heard of him. that ended the call fast. next I called several neighbours to alert them of this call as I know they do not want to not give out xxxxxx's new info
either. they appreciated the heads up and thanked me. It pays to be close to neighbours and protect each other.

because I don't want to help anyone with any clues as to his or anyone else's location i never give info and suspect everyone as up to no good if I don't know them personally.

nobody legitimately calls to say they are trying to get a hold of a neighbour.

Rule #1 When an unknown person calls you asking for someone that you may know you should immediately assume they are debt collectors and NOT give any info. Over the years every call like this was in fact a debt collector. Now we go out of our way to make their job as hard as possible including acting stupid and stalling for time while on the phone with them.

I am currently paying on an old BoA credit debt that Daniel Gordon bought.
I don't hold them collecting a debt of mine against them, what I hold against this company is their practices.
They obtained a judgement against me and waited until December 5th to use it.
Rather than take a bit of money to get the point across they meant business they emptied out my bank account right before Christmas (which is ironic because while irresponsible I ran the card up in the first place making sure my two daughters had a nice Christmas).

I understand that these peoples job is to collect on debts, I would never take that job myself because the profit margin they make on these things is ridiculous and they typically come after the people hurting the most. However I won't condemn them for doing it, I will condemn [***] Gordon PC for emptying my bank account right before Christmas and almost making us homeless for Christmas. I hope [***] Gordon PC had a great Christmas and bought his kids some more [***] they probably don't need because he made it almost impossible to provide the things my family did need. I pay every month(have a steady job so that's not an issue) now but I still think these collectors in particular are scum for the methods they used.

The next time the bill collector calls your husband at work, have him politely tell them that they are calling his work number and not to do so again.  Then if they note, track the date and time, and go see an attorney.  It's against the law to harass someone at their workplace.

1 no credit burough can threaten with any form of lawsuits or jailtime or moneygains due to it not being in there power to do any of those things....lawyer yes judge yes ....creditors no....harrasment and legally threatening....you can only say that this will be brought into court only in a legal action...
2 i just got a call today and watch.....i will be sueing you guys and the travel expesne you will pay in this matter since it occured in florida...on top of court fines....yeah...ill see you guys in court......
3 this chris guy must either work for these poor people or another burough just like them....in no way shape or form can a crfedit burough harrase some1 that owes...its up the the payye of said case holder....i.e the plantiff if brought to court....fn TARD...a creditor i.e using any sort of legal action or taking money or further action is unlawfull again...you have no say so in the matter.....creditor.....and the creditee....aka bank vs person...so on and untill the bank or person trying to get debt sues the creditor......can and often misuse the tactics like cps or any other forms of public services mostly..... ut most dont get action against them....some have and many have lost cases due to them being pigheaded arroganat and thnk they dont do anything wrong...like this chris has....just be glad you dont have your id number and last name or company chris......id make you look a fool you tried this on me

terms and contracts change all the time by the leasers obligation not ours....thast we have these problems in the first place i.e morgage rates....we dont change them...insurance..even with no acc....we dont change it ...cost of living gas  kids food ...and so on...again...people like you usig bs tactics again and sounding a fool....like when i get a call from a creditor on behalf of my cousin...knwing he did it and i sued him they still tried to call me and collect on someting that didnt exist.....much like what you discribe is legitamite creditor collections...your a joke still ... i hope you are gordan....ill be seiing you

Daniel Gordon has a laundry list of complaints against him, and it seems at least one Oregon State bar reprimand for taking someone to court after they had paid off their debt.

Just received a call from this number, with the name of Daniel N Gordon.  I didn't pick up because we don't know anyone by that name.  Now that I find out it's a debt agency, I don't know why they are calling me as we have no debt...we have no debt...we have no debt.  Did I mention that we have not debt?

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general,FTC & FCC..

I think that people in your field of work should have all their stuff stripped away all ur bills  go into debt  no help from anyone and try to live,take care of ever growing children,save money for ever rising gas and food prices. Maby walking a mile in some one else's shoes would open your eyes to what's really going on out there and sensitivity could become a word you understand.god help u
