This number calls about once a month but doesn't leave a message.  We have no outstanding debt so I  don't know why a debt collector would keep calling.

Well, until you talk to them you will never have an answer.  I bet that they will keep on calling though.

And I  will keep not answering. Have you ever been harassed by debt collectors because you have a very common last name?  I have, many times.  I have no unpaid debt, but have fought debt collectors for months at a time who thought I  was someone else.  So no, I'm not going to answer tbe phone.

Yes, I have been harassed by debt collectors.  Which is exactly why I found out what to do about it and how to handle it.  Since I have found out I have not had to worry about fighting them for "months at a time".  So go right ahead and do nothing, but when you do nothing and there are very easy solutions to problems then there is no reason for you to complain since you are in effect enabling them.
