- laprns replies to the wrong guy| 2 repliesThe jerks that call are working on commission (sp?) and will not stop-they will call your neighbors, relatives or anyone in the same town you live in asking about you. They have obviously never heard of the fcc. Can't get them to send any form of verification and they won't stop calling my neighbors or my Dad. When you try to tell them that you have the right to demand that they contact you in writing only they make obscene remarks then tell you to "borrow the money because I will call 50 times a day until you pay".
- TaraB replies to AJLWhat a jerk you are to call someone a vegetable. I hope you never become disabled. Shame on you. Go back to your job at DCS. Disabled people are disabled - not rich with assets to liquidate. Who is the vegetable now?
- TaraB replies to laprns| 1 replyDCS is dangerous. Report all of their actions to your state's attorney general. Their actions are in violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Study the act. Block their number on your phone. I don't care if you do owe student loans or back taxes - don't pay these jerks. The way they go about getting your alleged debts is ILLEGAL!
- TaraB replies to Life is hard when your not preparedIt is not your fault. You have the right to know what you are paying - what goes to interest and principle, etc. Don't continue to be stupid. Of course you should pay your debts -we all should but you still have rights. Prepare for that.
- TaraB replies to veronica starr| 2 repliesVeronica - stowe it. Just because people owe - doesn't mean they are supposed to be harrassed about it. Those in debt have right too. It is good to know there are people out there who never make mistakes or forget things and are always perfect. I will remember to call you for advice. Shame on you. You cannot judge people until you walk their path.
- TaraB replies to veronica starr| 1 replyVeronica - get another job. DCS is dangerous. They do lie and they do violate the laws of this country to suck people dry for fraudulent debts. Oh I am sure there are some (and I mean just a few) "legitimate" debts in their work load but not enough to justify their egregious actions. Shame on you for bloging to this site. I do not think this forum was meant for people like you. Go back to work - you have other innocent people to harrass.
- john replies to f.y.iwrong!!!!!!... i had a payment plan set up with them via electronic withdrawl... THEY decided to stop taking payments out of my account and pressured me into making higher monthly payments which i can not do... i pleaded with them to continue to take out the prior agreed upon arrangements... and now they are harassing me... so you are QUITE wrong my friend.. they DO "take" money.. and they DO harass.. and they DO renig on contracts..
PERIOD - JOHN replies to veronica starryour stupid.. yes i am bound by law to abide by the contract.. BUT SO IS THE LENDER/COLLECTIONS AGENCY... reference my other note where they have decided that the payment that i was making monthly to them via electronic withdrawl was no longer good enough for them... WITHOUT TELLING ME... and simply calling me on the phone, threatening me if i did not pay more a month.. which i can not afford... i agreed to a contract.. and kept my end of the deal.. they did not.. they are shady and since they did not abide by the contract... and [***] end of the law
- sandyThey have called my work non stop and either refuse to leave a message or they leave a name and number, but no other info. I have never dealt with this company, but my student loans have been in repayment since April of 2008 - they are set-up for automatic debit. So, while the default may still show up on my loans, I don't see how these guys can have a claim on my debt that has been in repayment for 6 months now. And the collectors I worked out my repayment plans with are not affiliated with DCS in any way.

- terelynn1Whoever it was from DCS, INC called to ask about a person who is not related to me. She didnt say what the call was about, but I told her that this person she was asking about was not related to our branch of the family. However, she was insistent that my phone number was the contact number given to them. After reading some of the above complaints and responses I am really concerned that someone is going to ruin my credit now. This stinks! How can I protect myself?
- Caller: DCS Inc
- mc replies to veronica starrIf you are such fantastic people, don't argue when someone is not at the number listed. I do not appreciate a 5 minute argument and lecture when I am not the person, that person is not in my office, and I cannot give you contact info for them.
- anotherdcser replies to TaraBHow so? Many people do not lie and dont violate the laws, and very very rarely does any of the litigation that DCS sees result in company fault, because we are trained well, and work accoring to the laws, read up on them- they exist to help protect you from being harrassed, not help you avoid paying your debts. As she stated before, DCS isnt out for your blood and your not a turnip, most of these people are far from innocent.. if your getting calls for someone you know chances are that that person left you down.. go talk to them about it- tell them to stop giving your cellphone number. Also the phonebooks is a public piece of information, dont complain that we know how to use it too. Its called Skiptracing, its a 100 legal. Now im going to go back to work, calling the actual debtors I have who are happy to enter repayment because they realize its better for them than allowing me to garnish their wages and you know what, after i get off of work im going to go buy myself a nice latte' and some new shoes with my bonus.. I deserve it.
- BillCaller won't tell me who they are and won't give me a call back number. They are calling for one of my employee's. Well guess what? They have to get through me first to get to my employee, so it isn't going to happen.
- blackbear replies to Christinepay you student loan and they wont call you or garnish your wages
- blackbear replies to jbpay your student loans-it is payed by OUR taxes and when you think you can take out a government student loan and promise to pay it back and you dont, who pays? WE DO PAY YOUR BILLS YOU DEAD BEATS
- tina0977| 1 replyI know someone from DCS has recently tried to contact me and I am going to contact him tonight to set-up my payment plan. I came across financial hardships when I was out of work on maternity leave and one of the original lenders of my loan was not being cooperative about making an arrangement with me. As a result, I said "to heck with it" and stopped making payment because I couldn't afford it. I am hoping they will do what they say they are trying to do and set-up a reasonable payment plan with me so I can fix this problem. I will say this, my husband was a collection's agent once, and had the same mentality..."you people borrow money and then don't want to pay it back." But what he then realized is that not everyone is trying to dodge the payment just because, but that they have truly fallen on hard times (even more so with the economy right now) and cannot afford it. He gave up the collection's job and went into another business because he didn't feel right about chancing down people that were losing their homes and businesses.
- LaurieI get calls from this number & I dont gave a student loan out.
- TaraB replies to tina0977Just be careful when dealing with DCS. Document everything. Put your bank on notice - tell them the exact amount - check your account daily. Better yet - set up a different account to pay them - keep them out of your regular account. You will pay your debt just not by harrassment.
- TaraB replies to F.Y.IFYI - we are not beholden to you.
- TaraB replies to CKYZZIECKYZZIE - this is not a forum for your pontification. It is a forum for consumer information. Please refrain from such posts.
Thank You.
