Perhaps if the government would quit making it so easy for companies to send their jobs to India, some of us wouldn't be making so much less money than we would had our jobs NOT been sent away...paying my bills has become quite the challenge, so be careful how you say that.  Many people are just a few bills behind which puts them just a few bills closer to living on the street, or if they are lucky to still have it, their car... most people want to pay their bills but harassment isn't the answer.

TRUE STORY… I was in college for Architectural Engineering (Residential). I had already been in college two other times, completed college and Paid for the college in full. However after getting mostly through college for the Engineering, I was laid off permanently from my job. I worked for a general contractor and engineering company. I had to get a new job of lose my house. I had to stop school because my new job hours were 9am to 8pm. (can’t fir school in that) It was supposed to be until the housing market returned, but as we know, it has not. I have now fallen default in my loans. I asked what they could do for a repayment, they stated that they needed an absurd amount as a down payment before agreeing to a payment option. Their payment options would be reasonable if I wasn’t laid off. I filed for an extension through the government. The extension is up. I make less than 25k a year, I have a daughter and I own a house. I had to sell the home and rent it back just so would have a place to live. Yes I am still in debt to them. And no I can not afford there more increasingly ridiculous payment plans. They’re only option the last I spoke was 15% down and 250 per month on a 15k loan, keep in mind that is a ten year payback. Do the math… That is if you agree, if you don’t they garnish you wages for 10-15 years at triple that. I have given my daughter back to her mother because I am no longer able to support her. Her mother has willing reduced the Child support because she knows how bad I was hit. I survive on a take home of 300 every other week. (barely)
Just the other day, DCS called my work, after being told not to call 5 times. And got my co worker. They told her they needed to talk to me to finalize the garnishment. My co worker does not know the laws so uknowingly she leaned over and told me there is someone on the line about garnishing my wages. Everyone around heard. Now I have looks and discomfort at my workplace because of this incident. I talked to my lawyer and he advised that what they did was highly illegal and is called ‘slander’. Slander is Illegal whether what you say is true or not, as long as it damages and individuals reputation or image. I will be starting a class action suit against DCS (already files, so it is public knowledge now).
    I urge everyone who is having debtor issues to stand up for you rights. If youfeel they are doing illegal things, call an attorney or lawyer. They will tell you what your rights really are. Do not take the word of someone here, or the word of the Debt Collector.
    Debts do not go away unless you make them. Ignoring the debt or moving to another country just delays them. There are government programs, and there are also loopholes in the law. Find them and you be the winner.
TO DCS, only 5% of the ENTIRE US POPULATION is better than middle class, middle class pays the most pennies per dollar in taxes, followed by the Poor, and in very last after a long line of groups of people are the wealthy. The Truly filthy rich, who pay less than 1/15 of a Percent of what any one middle class person pays in taxes. If you want to get you money back, help fix the problem, make poor people tax fee, tax the middle class only a little less, and actually try taxing the wealthy. If the wealthy paid their share in legitimate taxes we might have a democratic society, until then we live in a fatuous United States, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

actually can you describe a decent job???? a job is a job, u make money, and we get paid either way, i really dont care if people wanna pay there bills, our client will just take it from you anyways with or without your cooperation our job is to inform you that you owe, if you dont provide proof, how hard is that, its that simple you dont owe, provide proof, n yes innocent until proven guilty only works in the court of law, since we dont go that far, hope you have fun one day when your bank account is empty but your debt is paid
