I did not answer the call due to the fact that it had a plus sign (+) in front of it. I have read the above comments about people that have pressed 1 and or 2. I would suggest that if you don't know the business, you don't push any buttons. A few years ago, I worked for a major telephone company. There was a scam at that time to have you push a number in their option list, and the call would be forwarded to an international call. We would get calls from customers everyday complaining about their phone bills. Just so you know, if this happens to you, the phone companies HAVE to give you credit for the fraudulent calls.

me too! i got  call from 561-793-8708 today. this is the first time i've seen this # on my caller i.d. i didn't pick up when i saw that it's someone i don't know, however it really really bugs me that i keep getting these types of calls from unrecognized numbers despite being on a Do Not Call list. how are these calls getting through anyway????

They have called us at least 5 times in the past month.  They keep saying they have an offer for a better rate on our credit card and that the offer is about to expire.  We have hit 2 to stop these calls at least 2x, pressed 1 to speak to someone twice and when I asked what company it was they hung up.  Tonight it disconnected me when I pressed 1.  This is ridiculous.  We have been on the DNC list since it started.

Got a recorded call from "Heather in Accounting Services" about lowering my credit card rate. I don't have any credit cards with them.

About 6 months ago when they first called I informed them that I've been in the DNC list since 2005 and to please not contact me again. They keep calling anyway. Pressing number 2 ("press 2 not to be contacted again") does absolutely nothing.

When I got to a live individual by pressing 1 I asked the name and address of the company and he hung up. I tried calling back the number in the caller ID but it said "you're trying to reach a number that has been disconnected."

To get EVEN you can do three things:

1) Vent (good but with limited effect.)

2) File a complaint online with the "Do Not Call Registry" at www.donotcall.gov (better)

3) File a complaint online with the FCC at www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html. You need to fill in more information but it's worth it (best).

I did all three. Hopefully if more people file complaints someone might actually do something about it.

Called, left no message.  I <heart> my answering machine.

Call came in 8:47pm on 3/11/08.  Didn't answer because didn't recognize caller id.
Googled number and came to this site.

I got a call from the same number, but did not answer it.  When I did call the number back, you get a no longer in service recording. Sounds like a scam to me.

get calls from this number all the time.  i called back and the recording says the number is no longer in service.  I am on the DNC also

I received the call today and spoke with a guy stating he was with "Financial Services" based out of Atlanta, GA (my CallerID show that it was a W. Palm Beach, FL #) and they work with VISA and Mastercard card holders to get their interest rate lowered. He said the custome must be in good standing with th banks and must have paid on-time for 6 months in a row. I asked what info they needed my name or ssn #, he said none of that just the last four digits of my credit card number, billing zip code and something else I can not remember. When I told him I was not giving any info over the phone due to scams he said "There is nothing I can do with the last four digits of your card #". I told him that I still was not interested. He was still trying to get me to listen, so I have to h/u the phone since he would not. I am going to email my credit card company and see if they are aware of this company.

Recieved call 8:35 p.m.  Identified company as Financial Services to offer lower interest rate on credit card.  Wanted personal information.  Refused to give name, address or any information.  Reporting to Ark. AG as are on do not call list.

Received same call (about reducing credit card debt), caller was very cagey, said it was for my current credit card (I have several, he couldn't identify which one). I hung up when he started asking personal information. Sounded like a scam to me also. He sounded like he might be Indian.

Received call from this number at 10:30 am PDT today.  Didn't answer because I don't know anyone from Palm Beach.  Googled the number just out of curiosity, and that brought me to this site.  I am on DNC.  This is right off the DNC website: Read it and weep.
"A telemarketer or seller may call a consumer with whom it has an established business relationship for up to 18 months after the consumer's last purchase, delivery, or payment - even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry. In addition, a company may call a consumer for up to three months after the consumer makes an inquiry or submits an application to the company. And if a consumer has given a company written permission, the company may call even if the consumer's number is on the National Do Not Call Registry."
AT&T - think phone company, long distance carrier, etc. This includes their affiliates, and who knows who all their affiliates are? They will squirm out of it on that basis. Written permission - that could be anything you signed up for or ordered. Think smart! How about just playing dumb and going along with whatever they are selling.  Thank them for calling and perhaps "saving" you, then sign up for, or order, a ton of whatever they're sellng.  Just don't give out any REAL names, numbers (credit card, address, drivers' license, car license plate, date of birth, SS, etc.).  Say you moved, make a slight change in the spelling of your name, use your boss's address or that of someone you don't like, give them your (fictional) backruptcy case number - use your imagination. Oh, and take a very long time "digging around" for any information they ask for. Let 'em spend their resources waiting for you to get back to the phone and then tracking down dead ends - they might not get the message and will continue to call, but you can at least have some fun with them. Looking forward to reading about your victories.

You guys really should file with your state attorneys office...you'd be surprised what they can do even if the caller is out of state.

Even more surprising was the fact that (in the USA) hiding caller ID *doesn't* work if you call a 1-800 number. They're paying for the call, so they get your caller ID anyway.

got the same call from this number at 4:58 MST, they said there was issues with my credit cards and they can help by lowering my rate, to speak with a live person press "1" or to be removed from the list press "2", I pressed 1 to speak with them as I was curious what this call was about because 1 I don't have credit cards and 2 I am also on the DNC list, when the rep picked up she asked if I had pressed the option to lower my rates, I had said yes and wanted to know what this was about, she said she works with cc agencies and lenders like BOA, Chase, Visa and Mastercard, I advised her I don't even have a cc and she hung up. I called this number and was directed to a voicemail which was very generic and didn't sound like a business. I also have reported this number to the police for fraud

Calls regularly, does not leave message when machine picks up. It shows West Palm Beach FL.

I HAD this phone # for 10 yrs. until today, I had to change it because unfortunately some scammers "spoofed" it. They attatched my # to their co. name and have been bothering poor souls all around the country. I was a victim! I'm very upset about this whole situation. I do believe in karma though, and the ppl that are doing this will get what's coming to them. If u have rec'd phone calls from these scammers, seen 561-793-8700 or 561-793-8708. Plz call ur local phone co., the DNC and the FCC and file complaints. Maybe if enough ppl complain they may take it seriously and investigate and possibly find these [***].Before I changed my number today ,I did get to talk to some nice ppl from diff. states. I also left a message on my machine explaining what was going on, some of u might have heard it and left feedback. Thank u for being polite and leaving nice msgs, i do have small kids in the house that were listening to these messages as well. There was one woman who left a nasty msg and screaming in the phone DO NOT CALL MY # AGAIN!, Trust me lady, it wasn't me, and you probably don't have anything I want either, and please call your atty general I think we all should! .
