Same - keeps calling - no voice - hangs up

update: called them back - CCS debt collection company - I told them to remove me and they marked their record as wrong number as they asked me for the person they were looking for however couldn't explain why they don't say anything when they call????

Calling me and either no noise, hangs up or starts to ring like I'm going to some marketer. NOPE - I hung up and blocked them

Okay "USER", thanks for the "advice". It's always fun when you find trolls from the debt scam company on here trying to argue with people and convince them to call them. Ha!!!!!!!!

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

That person posted here 6 months ago and as usual has scurried for cover.  Your time and effort would be much better if you read the information on page 5 of this thread that I posted and then did this:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

They call at least daily, I don't answer and they don't leave a message.  I owe many debts, and would like to know if this is one of them.

Interesting to see this thread goes back to June 2013 and is 8 pages long.

Debt Collector from New Hampshire. Agency will call every number connected to you in anyway. No voice mail messages will be left. But robo-calls will continue until you answer the phone call.

No voicemail, just call.

This number belongs to CCS -- a collection agency. You have to sit on the line for a ridiculous amount of time before it connects to someone

Blocking the call is pointless when they're STILL able to leave a "blank" voice message!  I'm honestly harassed
by these idiots at least 3 times a day!

I called it - says it's a Debt Collection Agency. I can attest to the fact that the number they called is NOT listed on any legal documents I use for anything as it's a spare google voice number they called.

Called no message, keeps calling

Just picked up a call from this number. Phone says it's from Portsmouth, NH. After about 5 seconds of ring tone, a man said "This is credit card services calling about a debt. Can you please verify your address?" I said "Who are you and what is the purpose of this call?" He said, "I can't continue until you verify your address." I responded, "I'm not telling you anything until I understand who you are and what is the purpose of this call." He said, "Thank you, have a nice day," and hung up.

I believe these are scammers. DO NOT give anyone over the phone information about yourself before you are CERTAIN the other party on the phone line is legitimate. I've gotten one too many of these scam calls and have a gut feeling immediately once I sense a scam.

this number called my cell ten times in the past three months. never left any messages. my phone app auto blocked the last seven times this number called.

caller identified as some credit collections agency, I challenge them to provide me with my customer information to verify they are calling the right person, caller refused to provide me any meaningful information and instead insisted on asking me for my PII. Cussed the person out for being a scammer and hung up on her.
