Call ID says "South Dakota" but if it's a person they end up with a rude awakening. My wife's TTY uses that phone line. TTY answers with a screech tone similar to a fax machine, but because TTYs use baudot instead of asci tones, the tone is really loud. If they weren't deaf before the call they may be after the call.

Never answer it voice so I don't know if it's a computer of person. Hope the latter so maybe they will take my # out of the pool.  FCC has wonderful track record for me. 3 for 3. Going to try for 4.

Caller ID said "VAF". Woman said she was from what sounded like Kevin Homes and asked if I was ?? at (gave my address).  I asked who she was again and I thought she said she was with something like Kevin Homes and then she said she was calling to see if I received a large green bag they delivered to my house that was filled with ads and stuff.  I told her I was on the do not call list and she should not be calling me at all and I did not see anything delivered to me.  (I checked after the call, and there was nothing).

Called me today..no message. The call display shows "long distance" and the number.

Has called me twice in two days could not pronounce my name, told them this was an solicited call and to not call back but they did so anyway.

two calls to my cell phone in the past few days...pierre SD...no voice mail...called the number back from work extension and got "customer service" recording, asking me to key in my phone number to have it removed from the call list.  i think this is their tricky way of validating my phone number for future calls.  also, i am a recently cancelled Los Angeles Times subscriber, so it could be that LAT sold my number to a call center or they are paying a call center to call ex-subscribers.  They are desperate to keep their circulation numbers up so they can keep their ad revenue flowing.  I also never answer my cell if i don't recognize the number...long distance or local...if they really need me, they can leave a message.

Got call 6-16-11 at 6:00 Mountain time.  Did not answer as it showed the phone number and VAF.  Figured it would be a sales call or for donations.  They did not leave message on recorder.

Came up "VAF" CID...no message

Receive this call every two days... reporting it to the FCC

I'm getting this call on a daily basis. I'm in Toronto, Canada.

just call the # back n have it removed from their list. they are solicitors. they didnt have my correct name when they called me..........

Called my phone today.  Left a message saying "this is a service verifications, we will call you back".  Caller ID said "VAF". If you report these unwanted numbers to the National Do Not Call List, after you've asked them not to call and/or provided your number to the National Do Not Call List, the company will be charged I think $10,000.

Some lady called last week said they were a survey company,and Today a man called asked for my husband before I could get hello out of my mouth...

I'm in Canada.  The LA Times must be run by dummies if they want me to subscribe,
but then most spammers are dummies anyway, so that consistent.

Came home around 5 p.m. and the phone number issued to my fiancee under name came up with that number but no one left  a message.

two calls in one da form this number. did not pick up because it is an American state number and i live in Canada. Something has to be done about these annoying and invasive phone numbers.

Called the number back and reached "Customer Service" allowing me to enter my number to have it removed from call list.  Time will tell...
