Vapesecure out of Michigan.Caller with a heavy accent claimed my computer had been hacked by foreigner hackers. I said that he sounded like a foreign hacker. Wanted me to go to my computer and walk me through the process to correct the problem. I said I did not have a computer, desktop or laptop. He hung up after I told him he was full of it.

Raj's student visa expired and now he's back home in New Delhi trying to scam people.  I'd say invite him over to assist in slaughtering a cow, but that probably wouldn't upset him since he's said he eats beef when he's in the U.S.  Yeah, I got a call from this "Michigan" number, but let the unfamiliar number roll to my voice mail until I could check 800notes.com, and saw that it's the SOS.

It is amazing that this type of scam has not been shut down, it has been going on for years.
They are clearly calling from India and this scam is clearly a robery. The Telcom industry has no interest blocking such calls and our (especially now) government is not willing to shut down these scammers or raise the violation ticket to something that would shut down them down for such scams.

I was onto this call immediately...when there is a long pause before they respond when you answer you can be assured that its a spam call and likely crooks. Wish the new US President Donald Trump would exile these guys! They just want your credit card number and are totally fraudulent callers.

So they don't teach Social Studies in Canada? Just wondering because last I heard the US has a President, and Canada has a Prime Minister.

Little hard to do since these scammers are not even in the US to begin with despite what Caller ID shows. Since they called you in Canada, maybe you should get Trudeau to meet with Trump and solve the problem for both our countries.

Guy named Steve from Portland called me in New Delhi to let me know my Windows computer was infected and needed his immediate help.  I said sure, I'd never heard of such a thing and logged into the place he told me to go.  I put in my SS number and credit cards.  I then gave him my families' SS numbers and credit cards.  Then I looked at my caller ID and realized Steve was calling from MICHIGAN.  At that point I got concerned.

I got a call from this number - and I decided to MIMIC his voice and mannerism!  He didn't like that :-)  He asked why I'm barking at him like a dog and I said because you are barking like a terrorist .... then I put in a few good American words and hung up.  I'm really sick of whomever is using "these" people to call random numbers.

Got a call from this Indian sounding guy and he said my computer was sending continuous error messages. I have had calls like this before so I knew he was a scammer. So decided to play along and have him walk me through the fix on my computer. He said the errors were on my Microsoft computer and after a while of toying with him, I said wait, I have a MAC. So he walked me through typing in Zanesecure and I told him it pulled up a news site. He said "what kind of news?" I said that it said it was news for him that I knew he was trying to scam me. He got real smug and said if he wanted to hack me, he would have already done it. I told him to lose my number and never call me again. I called him a dumb [***] and hung up. I called his Michigan number back and I got a recording that the number had been disconnected. That sure was fast!  Hopefully I won't hear from him again?
